Local Newspaper recognizes Democratic Candidate as the best
choice..I'm not sure this is an endorsement but I thought this paper was a right wing leaning pub. so this is a real surprise..Last week the RNCC began pouring money into this 3rd district race so it became obvious that the incumbent Repub was in trouble....Wow this is great news.

1. Journal Gazette tends to endorse more Democrats than News Sentinel
Journal Gazette
Edition: Morning
Circulation: Approx 61,000
Rank: 171

News Sentinel
Edition: Evening
Circulation: Approx 36,000
Rank: 284

Despite the fact that NE Indiana is considered infested with Republicans the Journal Gazette has a substantially higher circulation.

They share the same building with an operating agreement.

Local REDNECK SOB Talk Show Hosts refer to the Journal Gazette as the Urinal Gazette.

2. I thought both papers were owned by the same comapany..
I know at one time the Gazette was a nightrider paper..but never the less Hayhurst must be even or ahead or not far behind..The RNC just ran a poll for that district and nobody is talking but all of a sudden the money came pouring in to Souder for those negative ads,,

3. Ownership
The News-Sentinel was owned by Knight Ridder from 1980 to 2006. In 2006, Ogden Newspapers Inc. purchased the News-Sentinel.

Journal-Gazette
Merged with The Journal in 1899, the paper has been locally owned its entire history. Julie Inskeep is the third member of her family to serve as publisher. Her family has controlled the paper since 1930.
