They are going to "fix" the vote but I think we will still win because
they aren't trying to "fix" the vote in their so-called safe precincts. People are not happy and it isn't just Democrats. I think they feel if they adjust the vote in a few tight areas like they have in the past they will prevail. I don't think they feel worried about their "safe" areas. They should be. People are not happy with them. They are not to the point of voting Democratic yet but they are not ready to vote for these guys either. I think, except for those voting absentee, there will not be too many enthused Republican voters and many will just stay home. Those voting absentee have already voted and they I am fairly certain have voted Republican. Republicans figured out a long time ago that their base was the kind of folk that liked things easy without complications, hence absentee ballots. It is just so damn easy to vote from home. You don't have to find a place to park or stand in line and possibly run into that obnoxious person you have been avoiding. The Republicans great GOTV they brag so much about is basically Absentee voters. They don't have to get them out anywhere. Hell those people don't even have to apply for the ballot, the GOP just sends it to them. Can't get any easier for them. Those that normally go to the polls though just might decide to sit this one out and see if the Democrats can do a better job. We can and we will. It has taken us over a decade to get over being slapped down so hard in '94. Hell Republicans won 54 seats that year, we are hoping we can possibly win 15. Try and imagine what elected Democrats were feeling after that election. America said very emphatically they did not like what Democrats were about. How was a Democrat supposed to react after that humiliation? I truly think we are going to get a second chance and I hope we don't blow it again. America prospered under Democratic rule and the world loved America. Republicans feel they would rather be feared than loved but most Americans feel that if we are loved we don't need to be feared. They also believe we should "walk softly but carry a big stick". Anyway, I got off onto a tangent but the main message is I feel for the first time we actually may really win back Congress but not from the areas one would imagine...

1. They don't adjust the vote in "tight areas" - it was in Dem leaning areas

in Florida where the con job was to move Dem votes into the GOP column where electronic machines made tracing this impossible. The result was a Dem win as expected, but by a much smaller margin, sold to the media as a great 72 hour GOTV effort by the GOP.

Only problem it was not a result of a general statewide or nationwide GOTV effort - only specific Dem leaning areas were targeted - and all was statistically impossible. But the folks in the media were never any good at math, and would rather believe BS about a great ground game by the GOP in the last 72 hours. The theft was likely more than 300,000 votes in 04 in Florida and may well have cost Kerry the election - and that's even before we get to vote suppression, or Ohio.

And now the media is trying to sell the Dems that the statistics that prove theft are just "myths", because the theft is a myth.

God, I love our uneducated but not right wing GOP controlled - they just act like they are- media.
