I don't like being told that we CAN'T impeach the asshole
that's just me i guess, i get riled when someone tells me that it's absolutlely, physically, virtually pointless to even suggest impeaching bush for numerous treasonous acts. my constitution says i can, but you naysayers tell me i can't.

and i don't lose my anger when all the various points are layed out regarding the impossibility of impeachment, i've seen them all, and i'm still pissed at the defeatist suggestion.

i think i would be happy if someone would simply officially suggest it, put it forward, begin the process, and lay out articles of impeachment, send it up and see what happens, even if it failed utterly, i'd feel slightly better just knowing we at least tried to do our constitutional duty, instead of just rolling over and saying, please rape us again sir.

1. Take heart.
I was watching NBC tonight, it was just so good to see people on the air just flat out saying that he committed a crime...And then the architects of the Bush legal plan, who just say that the president can do ANYTHING to protect people from a terrorist attack...And it was just so obvious that anything includes no oversight. Spying on political opponents, assasinating rivals...people can think this through.

2. The politicians...ALL of them
are too afraid to do anything. Maybe because their phones might get tapped or they won't get their promised pork money for 2006. You know, tax payer money for getting a road named after them in their district or funding for a box turtle circus. Important shit for them (politicians) you know, compared to helping Katrina victims as it's slipped off the front page and it's not a good photo opp. anymore.

GOOD MORNING everyone! :)

3. I agree with you
how soon we the people forget that Nixon tried these same tactics and failed. Either history repeats or we might as well give up our voting rights and appoint GW as the first king of america. I'm not willing to let that happen regardless of what Diebold or the repigs want. Time to flood our democratic congressmen and put pressure on them to do the right thing. It also means flooding the repke congress and let them know we the people are very pissed off that they let this criminal get away with undermining the most scared thing in america, the peoples trust. For to long now we have sat back and did nothing except let others handle things in our best interests. Well this is what we get for letting Reagan lie, steal and cheat we the people. Maybe its time to take back america and start kicking the crooks out of office instead of bickering among ourselves over the small stuff. First off lets go out this coming november in vast numbers and get rid of these repukes that pander to the rich, its up to us to do it in a year that has lower turn outs then the elections of presidents. Then if Diebold pulls its crap we can demand an investigation. We also need to be on our elected servants for paper trails and stop expecting our votes to be counted. Its up to us to stop this madness.

9. Your welcome.
It's for when you donate and stays for a year. I've already donated but I love to keep helping the cause. Gift donations are allowed and I'm in an exceptionally, although pissed at Washington, DC, mood today.

Enjoy!

8. I agree
it doesn't do any good to simply say, "He's too powerful/the repukes will never back it/the Dems are too spineless" because those memes only give heart to those who want this crook to remain in power. I hope that those who say these things are young, because that would mean they didn't recall how invincible Nixon looked like in '72-if DU had been around then, we would have heard these same things said.

And naysayers, don't give me the bilge about the media now being owned by the repukes so we don't have a chance. Contrary to popular opinion, it wasn't just Woodward and Bernstein who brought down the Nixon WH. It was courageous people both in and out of government who were willing to stand up for the truth. That being said, I hope your local peace/activist group is planning a meeting to discuss what to do to help bring about impeachment--mine is. When I get a definate date/time for the meeting, I'll be posting it on the Arkansas forum.

13. No tipping point, that's why, and it's infuriating
I keep thinking that ONE DAY there will be enough critical mass to make it happen! But just when I think it can't get any worse, it gets worse. And nothing political happens except a few good Democrats in the Congress go around with their hair on fire for a few days.
