Saw this in a myspace bulletin and thought it was a good antidote to the "God is on our side" dogma from the freepers

Dear Lord, I do not believe that you take sides in politics - I believe that attitude is arrogant and destructive. There are corrupt Democrats in this country, just as there are corrupt Republicans. Even so, I realize that there are forces of darkness growing in America that threaten to consume this nation with hatred, oppression, fear, and intolerance, and I ask that you give us and other Americans the ability to do whatever we can to oppose them. I ask that you give us the ability to restore America to the nation it's founders envisioned. Amen

Forgive this undeserving nation with blood on its hands, and give us the chance to change and make amends. Give us the chance to put our best to work and not our worst.

We have worked so hard, but now we need your help to stop doing harm.

their constituents. People who will not be for aggressive war. People who don't treat those in foreign countries ..or poorer neighbourhoods and cities as "others".
