Mallard Fillmore - "Dont Vote!"
http://www.jewishworldreview.com/strips/mallard/2000/mallard1.asp

My local paper carries this strip right above Doonesbury. Normally I just read it and wonder "is this supposed to be funny??"
But today, he crosses the line. He actually tells people not to vote tomorrow. My paper is getting a nasty letter about this.

1. Nobody reads that idiotic, humor-free strip but Republicans.
And if they don't vote, that's just fine.

On an ethical level, though, it's wrong to advise people not to vote. But then, what do ethics have to do with Republicans anyhow.

6. If those fucking idiots want to tell their zombie like readers not to vote
I'm not going to stand in their way. And anyone who reads Mallard Fillmore probably isn't going to get their lame joke and WILL probably think they're getting marching orders to stay home.

Hell, why should Republicans vote anyway? Diebold does it for them.

2. Does anyone besides mean-spirited right-wing fundie wackos
read Malware Filthmonger?

I wouldn't mind at all if the people who find him amusing stay home.

4. I'm ashamed this guy is from Indiana... He's just another lock-step Neo-con
who doesn't know what America is all about.

5. "I can't come up with anything original,
so I'll just draw Daffy Duck. Everyone respects him, so I think he'll be a good mouthpiece for my political views."

7. Garfield has better social commentary than that strip
What amuses me about the strip is how meaningless and stupid it is. It is as if he is incapable of anything but simple thought. I guess some people think of it as the opposite of Doonesbury but I think most of the people who think Doonesbury is nothing more than a liberal agenda strip really don't read it.

8. Gah. That comic just sucks so bad.
But that 'rounding people up, putting them on buses and telling tham how to vote' sounds suspiciously like the vaunted GOP GOTV organization, doesn't it?

Just sayin'

9. The fact that this badly-formed toilet paper is being paid to "create"
is an indication of the non-liberal slant of the media ...
