Webb increases lead slighly after Fairfax City Absentees are counted...
Only one precinct in Isle of Wight County...a few hundred votes at best...left to go...

Allen will win most of those, but Webb will end the counting ahead by more than 7000...

12. Not really
The first is Clark's plan. Which differs from Murtha's plan. Which differs from Hillary's plan. Etc.

The sencond isn't a plan for Iraq, but a generalized statement that Dems will implement the 9/11 comissions recommendations.

11. It's not about having a plan per se
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 04:08 PM by Sugarcoated
It's about discussing the issue, communication, different viewpoints - as opposed to this administrations 'my way or the highway' attitude that has made the Iraq mess messier. It's about all of us working together to solve this colossal Bush fuck-up.

14. Which could be summed up nicely as
Analysis paralysis. Meanwhile Iraq descends further into anarchy.

17. How is having all voices at the table
rather than just the ones in the bubble 'analysis paralysis'? What does that mean?

20. The "voices"
have had over 3 years to come up with an alternative plan. Should we expect something substantive in another 3 years maybe?

25. It make a huge difference
to sit down with all parties and communicate face to face in a good faith way. Bush has tied us up in a Gordian knot, no easy answers, but staying in a bubble of denial and blocking us out from the discussion is irresponsible. We obviously have alternate plans, let's sit down and hash it out.

Maybe sometimes critical discussion necessarily distrupts the monotone of backslapping with reality. Do you ban for that here?

5. Yes it isn't automatic...
Allen has to ask for it...which he hasn't actually said he would do. He is going to wait for the Canvass to see if there are any significant changes. If there are not, I suspect he will conceded!

7. Tis true and since the vast majority of VA uses Diebold without a paper trail
Edited on Wed Nov-08-06 03:59 PM by ShortnFiery
it seems that the Republicans' LOVE of such God aweful methods (no paper trail) is coming home to roost on their political asses. :applause:

No, if Allen demands a recount he is a cry-baby sore LOSER. The odds of 7000 votes being flipped into Senator Macaca's box is minute.

The only question is: Is Allen MAN enough to accept the inevitable or will he choose to tie up the state's resources for weeks on end after the votes are signed off on come 27 November?

Now now, like Kathrine Harris said in Florida, THIS IS THE DATE (for Webb 11/27/06) THAT THE VOTES MUST BE SIGNED OFF ON.

Oh yeah baby, how does it feel to be "slam dunked" by your own Republican Co. owned Diebold machines?

Nope, no paper trail here, just read the numbers off the screen!

A little justice feels so good. ;)

9. I fear Macaca Man may have an ace up his sleeve
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/08/us/politics/08cnd-recount.html

After certification, a losing candidate has 10 days to file a recount request in the state courts. The petition will be considered by a panel made up of the chief judge of the Circuit Court in Richmond and two judges appointed by the chief justice of the State Supreme Court. Those judges then set out guidelines for conducting the recount.

And who is the Chief Justice of the Va. Supreme Court? You might well ask..

http://www.regent.edu/news/hassellchiefjustice.html

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—Leroy Rountree Hassell, Sr., a Norfolk native and Regent University Jurist in Residence, was recently selected Virginia’s Supreme Court Chief Justice. His election occurred under a new law passed by the General Assembly, allowing a majority vote over seniority for selection.

Regent "University" used to be known as "CBN University". That's right, the man who would be hand-picking two of the three judges in control of Macaca's -- and the nation's - fate is Marion G. "Pat" Robertson's personal "jurist in residence". :scared:

18. Stop fearing...it's debilitating
The GOP didn't fear shot after 2000. They said, this is the way it is, period.

That's what we need to do now. Webb won. The race is over. The votes are in. If the GOP wants to call a Waaaambulance, that's their issue, but this thing is done, it is completed. Finito.
