Watching election-night coverage was like watching a toilet bowl that didn’t flush completely.
You know, where the stuff kinda flows around in circles but doesn’t really go down.

That what election-night coverage reminded me of.

I attended a victory party for Dennis Moore (3rd district-Kansas). Around the room were big screen TeeVees that were tuned to election-night coverage programs. There were several networks: CNN, Fox, and others.

I’m not all that familiar with Corporate Media “personalities” but I saw many of the “usual suspects:”

George Will
Tim Russert
Cokie Roberts
George Stephanopoulos
Bill Bennett
…and others

I thought, “Not these guys AGAIN?!?!?

I remember Cokie from Campaign 2000 when she reported on NPR about Bush’s “charm offensive.” Was a Bush toadie like her really the one to have report on this election? And Russert AGAIN had his pad of paper and marker showing us how the races were playing out like a desperate football coach on the sidelines of a game with only seconds left to play.

Fortunately, the sound was turned off as we were mainly watching the returns as they appeared on the screen.

I suppose Corporate Media “personalities” are a lot like cockroaches: once they get into your house, it’s awfully hard to get rid of them.

2. I just noticed how many of them weren't smiling
like they have before when the GOP was winning. Most of them seemed pretty subdued compared to previous elections. I, on the other hand, was grinning from ear-to-ear and dancing especially after Ryun conceded. I admit, I kind of enjoyed watching them being so morose.

The problem is that they are all buddies. Their bosses aren't going to fire the people they have dinner with at Sally Quinn's house. They prefer to stay in their little D.C. bubble and try to dictate how the rest of us should feel about particular candidates.
