Spill the Beans Dick Durbin!!!
"The day before the Senate Judiciary Committee's vote on Sam Alito, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin said he had 37 votes to support a filibuster — not enough."

1. Dick Durbin: I live in TX: I ADORE him as I do Kerry;
he got all that heat for mentioning Gitmo and WWII/fascism/Hiltler, whatever he said, he was
telling the TRUTH!
This man also rocks in my book. Period, end of story.
The Dems have a plan, I flipping hope; please relax and consider the plan!

2. Isn't Durbin the "Whip"?
Whip or Wet Noodle?

He's blaming 'some others', who he won't name, for not being able to do his job.

Does he REALLY care about this, or is this another tap dance? Just asking.

3. i called his chicago office this past week and talked to
a very nice lady--friday i think (when arlen did that fake call for cloture)--and i told her he has to rally the troops behind him. i said, "isn't that his job?" and she said his job was really just to count the number of votes.

well, damn! i can count.

and i'm counting on him to rally the troops!

but if he knew who was holding out we could have focused our energies on them the last few days.

5. Well, that 'counting the vote' stuff is just Lame!
Ask Tom DeLay about counting votes already! The Whip's job IS to whip!

Calling from Illinois tomorrow.

8. right! that whip business--that's how i look at it--in
reference to all the crap delay pulled

i don't expect durbin to threaten or any of that shit, but i expect him to reason with these people even if he has to stay up for a week to do it. it's that important.

i'll be phoning him in the morning too.

7. Just took a tour of the Clue Farm
Durbin doesn't have the Abramoff money honey/blackmail pot to entice/threaten any Democratic Senator.

The Democtatic Senators, like always, are acting as independent contractors.

Can't there ever be a PARTY?
