Corporate Media in Love with Obama
I think something smells.

I'll vote for him if he gets the nomination, but something isn't right.

1. Oh, so that's why CNN compared how he dresses to Ahmadinejad.
Thanks for clearing that up. It's because they love him so.

2. Who on CNN?
Was that Glen Beck? If so, he's a nut.

GREENFIELD (voice-over): The senator was in New Hampshire over the weekend, sporting what's getting to be the classic Obama look. Call it business casual, a jacket, a collared shirt, but no tie.

It is a look the senator seems to favor. And why not? It is dressy enough to suggest seriousness of purpose, but without the stuffiness of a tie, much less a suit.

(snip)

But, in the case of Obama, he may be walking around with a sartorial time bomb. Ask yourself, is there any other major public figure who dresses the way he does? Why, yes. It is Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who, unlike most of his predecessors, seems to have skipped through enough copies of "GQ" to find the jacket-and-no-tie look agreeable.

And maybe that's not the comparison a possible presidential contender really wants to evoke.

4. Yes
I too smell a Manchurian.
Obama voted FOR patriot act renewal. That in my book is enough.
The guy who "comes out of nowhere". New Hampshire has "Obama fever".
Yes, I really do smell a Manchurian.

5. Senators Boxer and Kennedy voted for the patriot act renewal.
If you're going to reject Obama based solely on this vote, you've gotta reject Boxer and Kennedy on this basis too.

8. I do reject them because of that.
I voted for Clinton in '92 because he supported the idea of health care reform.

I voted for Nader (never again) in '96 because Clinton sold out to the Dark Side on health care reform and labor rights with his support of NAFTA. Because he did far more damage with his support of NAFTA than he did good with his support of the Family Leave Act.

I supported Boxer when she was a lone voice in the Senate against the Spoiled Brat Boy's imperialist ambitions.

I don't support her now because she sold out at a crucial time with her Patriot Act renewal.

I don't play favorites. When politicians talk the populist talk but don't walk the populist walk, I reject them as political opportunists. Because that is what political bait-and-switches prove them to be.

11. You're working with a rather peculiar fact base here.
Boxer was never the "lone voice in the Senate" against Bush's imperialism.

Over 20 other Senators and a majority of the Democratic House caucus voted against the Iraq War Resolution, so there was a fair amount of opposition to the war aside from the good Senator from California.

On the other hand, exactly one Democratic Senator voted agains the original Patriot Act and his last name wasn't Boxer.

I do applaud you for keeping alive the DU tradition of abandoning somebody based on a single questionable roll call vote.

7. I saw him on Opra - I was not impressed by him at all
He was fawned over by all the women. No one really cares what he would do if in office, and if they did, he was coy to say the least. I wouldn't let him hold my car keys while I got gas.

10. You really
believe he's an agent of a foreign power, here to destroy America?

Interesting.

6. from the reception Obama has been getting from rank and file dems
Edited on Mon Dec-11-06 08:39 PM by WI_DEM
at campaign stops across the country--I'd say it's real live democrats who are falling for Obama.

p.s.
do you think the "corporate media" loves Dean? they reported a great deal on his campaign in 2003 only to help destroy him in 2004.

9. The media did love Dean, as they now love Obama. And they will

probably be as eager to bring Obama down as they were to bring Dean down. The DLC wants Hillary and doesn't give a shit what the rank and file want.
