Break out your popcorn: small plane circling airport for next 40 minutes.
This is how we'll fill the morning on CNN...a two seater has broken landing gear and has been forced to circle a Tennesse (?) airport for the next 40 minuted until it burns off all its fuel, at which point we'll be sure to get the live pictures of the dramatic landing.

Okay, all bullshit aside, this looks pretty interesting...the landing gear is dangling under the plane like a Christmas ornament, just flapping in the wind. Ought to be quite a landing attempt!

1. Is Mr. Kim the pilot?
Now that would be a CNN two hour special.

4. Been there, done that
My first trip on a plane was like that. I was seven and airsick so I didn't care if the damn thing crashed.

The plane circled the airport for nearly 2 hours to burn off the fuel, then did a belly landing. The worst injuries were bumps and bruises and the worst part of the whole business was watching the ambulances and fire trucks assemble on the field.

Two seaters are flimsier and more prone to breaking up on landing. I hope the occupants are OK. The stats are with them.

7. It MIGHT be dicey.........
Who knows....It will depend on the skill level of the pilot. The airliner pilots get to practice this stuff on close to life-like simulators........small planes - not so much.

9. This was a very long time ago
and the pilot was most likely a WWII vet.

6. The pilot will be fine, the plane can belly in at something like 20 mph.
I'm an RC pilot and I have bad landings all the time, send your cameras CNN!

8. I saw one land like this by propping itself onto a moving truck going the same speed on the runway.
It was the solution they came up with when one-half the landing gear was stuck open and the other wouldn't retract.

It was a freaking miracle and it worked. Caught on TAPE!
