Has anyone heard anything new about the Senate's organizing resolution?

The resolution that organizes the Senate, sets committee chairmanships, ect, keeps this in force even if the composition of the Senate should change throughout the term of the congress.

There is talk that the GOP will try to insert wording into the resolution that would allow the Senate to reorganize should they somehow acquire a majority during the next two years.

There was a lot of talk about this when Senator Johnson's ability to remain in office seemed in question and I haven't heard a lot about it since.

Has anyone else?

1. We only got this in 2000 because the Senate was split 50-50.

I don't remember hearing anything about it in the past two Congresses. I doubt they'll get it this time around.

2. They generally re-negotiate a resolution if the balance of power changes

And until said resolution is negotiated they use the one used in the previous congress except that the majority and minority party might be different.

3. From what I read around the time Johson had his incident

A resolution generally cannot (or maybe it was does not have to be) be renegotiated mid-Congress unless there is special wording in the resolution.

Democrats apparently had this special wording inserted in the 107th Congress because of the 50/50 split.
