As dumb as he is, Bush would have a good shot of hiring a lawyer who could prove it. "I was a coked up bungler, just doing what they told me to do." Sad thing is, its the truth. Dang it.

1. limbaugh would call him a great man
dobson would urge that all good "christians" (if there is such a thing) pray intensely for the man. In fact dobson would gladly sell his lemmings a magnet with such sentiments on it. And hannity would say that's one more reason bush is our greatest president ever and o'lielly would state that that is just another reason bush is a much better president then Clinton.

9. DU-I
Well it was the whole bungler/burgler/buglar thing ringing in my brain but I've got a 2.5 yr old daughter lurking in the background who acts like Kato to my Inspector Clouseau so sometimes I hit post when the meat is still red in the center.

I've been lurking on DU myself. I post in a few other places, notably BlueNC.com. DU definitely has a feel of its own. Thanks for the welcome.

6. It sounds like the defense Sally Jesse Rafael offered when a murder
was set in motion on an episode of her show.

8. Not really in a legal sense.
If you commit crimes, you're responsible for them, except if there's specific exculpatory circumstances: children, for instance, or people who are provable mentally incompetant. Just being able to say that you were a henchman doesn't get you off the hook, unless the DA is willing to give you immunity in exchange for testimony against others.

In Bush's case, any defense would more likely be along the lines of claiming executive immunity (no such thing, but they contend that there is).
