Lieberman Will Not Probe Bush Administration Over Katrina
good fucking job, voters of Connecticut, of voting into office another assclown Republican:

Jan. 11, 2007 - Sen. Joe Lieberman, the only Democrat to endorse President Bush’s new plan for Iraq, has quietly backed away from his pre-election demands that the White House turn over potentially embarrassing documents relating to its handling of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans.

Lieberman’s reversal underscores the new role that he is seeking to play in the Senate as the leading apostle of bipartisanship, especially on national-security issues. On Wednesday night, Bush conspicuously cited Lieberman’s advice as being the inspiration for creating a new “bipartisan working group” on Capitol Hill that he said will “help us come together across party lines to win the war on terror.”

But the decision by Lieberman, the new chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, to back away from the committee's Katrina probe is already dismaying public-interest groups and others who hoped the Democratic victory in November would lead to more aggressive investigations of one of the White House’s most spectacular foul-ups.

12. Even more then Zell Miller!
Yep - Joe has him beat in the Hypocrite Award for slimy kiss rethug ass behavior.

Lets cut Joe loose - even if it means we lose our Senate majority, we are compromising too much - the way he has betrayed his former party is beyond shameful. I'd rather we give him his rethug badge of honor, and hope the likes of Snowe will consider switching to DEM or INDIE.

Loserman deserves not one ounce of attention anymore from DEMS.

Though Joe may switch regardless of what you or I want. Is he using us or are we using him? Maybe a little of both - I just look forward to the day when he don't need to dance with a man who's actions and political allegiance is so adverse to so much of what we are passionate about.

Lets see, we have Commerce, Environment, Health, and appropriations committees. I can see reasons for any or all of them to investigate Katrina. Screw Joe Leiberman. All I want from him is to staya Dem long enoughfor us to get another Senator to either switch partiesfrom Pub to Dem orhave some corruptOub to get thrown out and have his Dem Governor name a Dem replacement!

51. Well, if Holy Joe had done the right thing and

run only for VP with Gore, not simultaneously to keep his Senate seat, we might be at the middle of President Gore's second term. Also, it was Joe who said on national tv that they would not contest military ballots when it was known that there were military ballots cast after election day.

So, I think Edwards was right not to run for two offices at once. And he didn't want Kerry to concede as soon as he did.

I tried. I along with many others. I went for a bit on nothing but salads because I spent my days doing my chores for Team Lamont. Others practically spent their lives working for Lamont.

LIEberMe lied, smeared and maintained an illegal slush fund. 80% of his dollars came from out of state. 70% of the Rethugs voted for his sorry ass.

In the end, the sheep marched right into the booth and voted to give this thug six more years of disappointment.

I'm ashamed. :(

Ah Nutmegger, please do not be ashamed for trying to spread the TRUTH about Loserman's real identity. The shame is not yours, but those approx 30% of so-called DEMS that voted for this war mongering fool.

I'm curious, do you know any former Loserman apologists that drank the Kool-Aid and voted for him...and now admit to being an idiot? I want to hear just one person recant his vote. Or are they all hiding in shame in some dark corner.

Loserman is sitting back, waiting for the choice moment to formally declare his true colors and switch sides. I'm sure he will be welcomed into the rethug party; and then we can forever cut him lose.

In a tiny way I feel responsible because I know that everybody was looking at us. The 30% of the Dems who voted for this bastard are worse than the Rethugs and Independents.

I don't know of any Loserman apologists who have recanted their vote for him. They're all hiding in shame. Interestingly enough, his flopping is not being covered in the local M$M.

The day for him to finally switch cannot come soon enough. Hopefully we'll pick up a few more seats in 2008 and finally rid ourselves of him.

Thanks friend. :)

26. It's a bad joke.
The people who went through Katrina figured out a long time ago the government was NOT on our side. It would, in all honesty, be kinder if they just let the topic die along with the corpses in the waters. Hinting at the possibility of doing something and then letting that DINO fucktard sob decide, "well, maybe not" is salt in a wound already too sore.

The motherfuckers who weren't there don't have a clue what they're playing with.

I expect Henry Waxman will take the lead in the investigations of contractors and the government's "no bid" deals in both Iraq and Katrina. The House is almost always the body that does the investigations anyway.

68. Unfortunately, you can't recall a Senator
I have a bad feeling that Lieberman will keep dangling the threat that he will cross over to the other side in front of the Dems, but never really deliver anything of substance to the Democratic Party. He'll always maintain the pretense that on some major upcoming vote in the future, he'll deliver. But he'll try to run out the scam for as long as he can.

The best thing to do is to try to get some other Republican Senator to go Indie or Dem and offer them Lieberman's Chairmanship, someone whose seat might be at risk in the next election. A moderate Republican at this point can be no worse than Joe.
