Checking in from the media reform conference-anyone else there?
Just got out of a forum with Amy Goodman, Norm Soloman, Jeff Cohen and others on impeachment.

It's been a great event, though continuous attendence does make the discussion get a little repetitive.
Bernie Sanders stole the show, Moyers was great and Phil Donahue reminded me just how much I miss his presence on the air.

I'm writing up a lengthy report and will post it soon.

8. I miss Phil Donahue too.
I remember when his show was cancelled...it was while Bush was bringing us to war in Iraq.

A guest on Donahue's show was talking about how much profit Cheney's defense company made off of the first Gulf War...Donahue's show was cancelled three days later due to "low ratings".

I can't believe what's happening to America.

9. It is a shame
The type of media we have in America today. Back in the 50'thru the 60's we could open a newspaper and even tho it was republican, we would know that the information was correct. It was not distorted, even tho it might have heavily favored the republicans.

Newspapers did not rant and rave and post the type of lies they do today. We did not have the type of right wing bloggers such as rush and Morgan, Drudge, Malkien. We do have dem bloggers but you don't see the have and vile as on the republican side.

I can not believe that this country's media has sunk into the morass of lies, flames, slurs and outright onslaughts on individuals, remember the swiftboating of Kerry.

I know there is a lot of important things in this country, but unless they bring the media out of republican control we will never get the truth out there.
