"Please describe any feelings you have about vice president Cheney."

http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/news/archives/2007/01/16/describe_your_feelings_on_dick_cheney_.html

<snip>

Judge Reggie Walton has not released his final list of questions, but below are some that Mr Libby's lawyers want to ask potential jurors to ensure the most sympathetic jury possible for their client.

"Do you have particularly strong feelings about the war in Iraq?"

"Based on what you know at this time, do you believe that the administration misled the American people to justify going to war?"

"Have you been following any of the recent political scandals involving Jack Abramoff, William Jefferson, Tom DeLay, Cynthia McKinney or Mark Foley?"

"What is your political party preference? Democrat, Republican, independent or other?"

And this one is particularly to the point:

"Please describe any feelings you have about vice president Cheney."

ANOTHER FINGER WAVING BY THE "ABOVE THE LAW CROWD"
ONE MORE DAY OF DISGRACE FOR OUR COUNTRY!!!!

5. It's the same as any other jury
There's a limited number of challenges from both sides before a jury must be seated. The great thing? Democrats outnumber Republicans in the DC area 9 to 1, according to the AP.

3. Do they REALLY want to hear people's feelings about vice president Cheney?
Aren't they afraid of having their ears burnt by the torrid language that this question would elicit?

My feelings about vice president Cheney are that he is an evil murdering fucking bastard, or rather calling him a fucking bastard gives fucking bastards a bad name, and that when he goes to hell he will take over from Satan.

And that's the censored version of my feelings.

4. Does anybody know who appointed Judge Walton?
If it was Clinton (or Carter) and any ruling goes against Libby, we'll hear holy hell raised on the nightly news.

8. Vice President Cheney?
"Oh, he's a such a nice man. Respectable and honest, fair and considerate and a fine leader. He's eloquent and so charismatic. He cares for people and is kind to children. He's handsome and what a snappy dresser. He does his very best to help all Americans and maintains our positive international image. He believes in the rule of law and Democracy. He's modest and never uses his position for personal gain. He has the respect of world leaders. Oh, and I heard he's a careful, responsible sportsman/hunter."

Isn't it funny, just saying such blatant falsehoods seems to make it all the more obvious how foul, rancid and wrong the man is.

Now then, the type of person who might have such positive, erroneous things to say about him, when asked about themselves would probably respond with remarks like these (or worse):

"Me? I love guns (I sleep with several, caressing that delicious cold-steel), shooting dogs (especially cute ones), beating children (for no reason; seeing their confused, hurt expressions and tears makes my day), watching gory war and horror movies (I watch at least one blood filled movie a day; the more blood, brains and guts, the better), poking my finger in infant's eyes (scratching their corneas) to make them cry for hours--and watching their mother's puzzle over why (is just hilarious). I can't wait till we nuke them stupid, worthless foreigners over there in Iraq/Iran--and the whole rest of the "middle east" (and make crispy critters)(and maybe we should send all the "liberals" over there on a fact-finding mission first); that's how we could easily bring the troops home AND keep all the oil. After all, we spent big bucks developing nukes that'll dispose of the unwanted population while leaving everything pretty much intact. It's okay for government officials to "bend the rules" in order to achieve important goals for America. It's not corruption to give profitable government contracts to the most qualified companies--even if you have an existing business relationship with them. When you're the most powerful country in the world, it only makes sense to use military force on smaller countries when they don't behave. Making someone sell you their stuff cheaply (and sign contracts to do so for 30 years into the future) just because they're afraid of you is perfectly honest and reasonable in business."

Reminder: that was what a typical Cheney supporter would think, not what I think...
