Ughh, you know what I hate about these disaster news conferences?
It's like the officials are giving an acceptance speech at the Academy Awards.

Just give me the effing information instead of thanking so and so for their quick response, and thank you to the state police for blocking the roadways and thank you to the Red Cross for providing food to the emergency workers.

OMFG!

Enough with the introductions.

Let the reporters ask questions about the train accident.

Then thank everyone if you want. :banghead:

2. I was referring to the news conference CNN just carried.
Not the news story on its web. ;)

3. The all-time worst of course was the post-Katrina "Heckuva Job"
press conference where the "public servants" stopped just short of high-fiving each other for their wonderful performance. Thanks for pointing out this sort of this isn't an isolated event.

6. Oh yes, as the bodies went a-floating-by, it was as though
they were awarding each other the Nobel Peace Prize.

Heckuva an example Phredicles! ;)

4. Dog and pony show

No real info offered on first 10 minutes on local TV.

Gov. Fletcher (R) is running for re-election. Face time.

8. How about instead of paying someone to deal with the media

and paying for training them on that, just write the stuff down on a piece of paper and fax it to the media. When the media asks "can't we have a real person to talk to?" Just tell them "You are not important enough for us to do that, we have real work to do."
