is there weird shit on the tubes? Several sites seem to be down

Maybe your ISP is doing some maintenance. Check their website. Most ISPs have some sort of "network status" page that alerts users to upgrades, maintenance, unplanned outages, etc. I had some trouble last weekend because my ISP had some problems. A server was down in a different state, but it was slowing down the whole network. :-(

Seriously though: I haven't had any troubles with the WWW
tonight. My TABS are many, and wide-ranging, and they all
seem to be behaving normally this evening.

5. Yeah, well.....the Lyric can make ANYTHING sound good. They're like that.

If they had a tape of me farting in my sleep after
a cheap 12-pack, they'd need about 3 days to work
it into an arrangement that would make grown men
fall to their knees and weep.

But that's the PERFORMANCE, not the MATERIAL.

And Strauss...I have no problem with Strauss,
he did fine works. LOTS of them.
I have problems with his FANS, when they claim
he deserves a seat at the table of true musical visionaries.

He gave his audience what they wanted to hear, and he
regularly gave it to them BETTER than they had ever had it before.
And he made some fat cash doing it. Nothing wrong with that.

He was GOOD. He was very good. But he was never truly GREAT.
He never grabbed his audience by the short-n-curlies
and FORCED them to fall in love with something strange and new.

So, I'll give him props for being very good at what he did,
and bonus points for being SUCCESSFUL at it.

But "great"? Sorry, even a toothless hillbilly from
Polecat Hollow like me has to draw the line somewhere.

He was the BEST...but he was never "great".

but the page is all goofy. Use the scroll on the bottom and go WAAAAAAAAAAY over to the right and you'll see the rest.
