it has nothing to do with when the girl starts having sex. At age 28, my doctor doesn't think the HPV vaccination is at all useful for me.

these people are morons, and it's their daughters who will suffer. Cervical Cancer is the second deadliest cancer in women.

7. I've said this here before, but I'll say it again,

when I got my rubella shot at age 7 or 8, whatever it was--the idea being that I would then be protected from rubella forever and hence would not have to worry about getting it someday when I was pregnant and unwittingly affecting the hearing of my unborn child--there was no moralizing whatsoever about the fact that I or any other girl was getting it at such a young age.

It's so ridiculous that anyone should think that it's terrible to give an 11-year-old a shot that will protect HER against a possibly fatal disease, simply because the only way we have to worry about her getting it is if she has sex. I mean, the only way I could have given birth to a deaf child was by having sex, and I sure had no plans to do that at age 7 or 8. Yet they vaccinated me anyway. And it didn't make me say "Hurray! My children are safe! Now I can go out and have sex!"

In the days before rubella vaccine, they used to expose little girls to the disease on purpose (It's no worse than a mild flu if you're not pregnant) so that they wouldn't have to worry about it when they grew up and had children.
