So the media is upset that someone put Bush in his place ?
And that "someone" happened to be black and at the funeral of one of the pioneers of civil rights. Well, isn't it about time? It would have been nice if the media had done it a long time ago but they are jellyfish. They have no backbones and no courage. It has come to the point where someone else has to do their job, albeit at a funeral. If they had done their job up to this point, the smackdown of His Majesty may not have happened today... The media needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

2. It's just an intimidation game by the corp media.

Early on during the service, Tweety was not bashing political comments made today. By tonight, he was. Rove sent faxes to all their faithful corp media with the order to attack those who had made political comments. I saw the change right before my eyes.

3. Coretta King would have been so f**king proud
of each and every one who caught the torch and SPOKE OUT.

What better way to honor the resplendent wife of one of the 20th Century's finest men than to carry the message they both lived to bear us?

4. Yes! Her life video said it all!
Then you look at what MLK wanted said at his funeral, and it's nothing within a million miles of the GOP mindset.

5. NOBODY "put Bush* in his place"
Edited on Wed Feb-08-06 01:14 AM by TahitiNut
His rightful place is a padded cell - for life. A few spoken truths slightly exposing the Chimperor's blatant nakedness don't come close to what this regime deserves.

Let's get a grip, folks ... these people have committed crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. They've usurped the power to commit torture, ignore habeas corpus, violate privacy rights, and commit murder - all in violation of the Constitution they've taken an oath to "protect and defend." A few remarks at a memorial service are a mere droplet of water compared to the ocean of cleansing this nation now requires.

6. But it begins with speaking the truth
and demanding to be heard. That is the way of non-violent protest. The truth is indeed liberating, and if it were not, then men like King would not be shot.

9. Perhaps they would have rather had them wear T-Shirts.
That way all we would see is a shot of them being hauled off to jail.

11. Martin Luther King made speeches and led marches against
the kinds of things Bush stands for. And the media criticizes someone for saying what MLK would have said? They criticized him then too. Nothing new if they criticize those who stand up for what he believed in, those who are saying today what he would say if he were here with us. Long live Martin Luther King! Long live Coretta Scott King! Two heroes of our time. Long live those who spoke at Coreeta King's funeral!

13. Looks like we got another bunch of people
who didn't watch Olbermann. The funeral was given proper treatment on his show.
