1. The turning point in Vietnam was the photos and film footage...
The American populace needs to be hammered with these photos and film...of the Iraq debacle...our dead soldiars...our wounded soldiars..our PSTD soldiars....

And of Katrina....the missing...the dead...the forgotten..

We need to keep hammering away....this is the cost of their plunderring of our military resources, our countries infrastructure....the countries very existence!!!

Power to the American People!! Put the criminals in jail!!

29. anyone remember the Life Magazine issue that had . . .
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 02:45 AM by OneBlueSky
page after page after page of photos of GIs who had been killed THAT WEEK? . . . lots and lots of pages -- virtually the whole News section -- with scores of photos on each page . . .

that single issue of Life did more to bring the war home than almost anything . . . I still have a copy, somewhere . . .

2. It is vitally important that . . .
. . . everyone see these photos.

And that is the rub. Because Joe Nascar will never even see it.

If * goes to war with Iran..There will be a draft...Iran will attack Iraq and decimate our soldiars and we have no backup for those soldiars....

This will be their reality check....

36. Every damn day...dead, wounded, suicides; and every damn day
another atrocity committed by the USA.

To every American, every one of them, who ever EVER supported bush's bullshit invasions;
YOU BETRAYED YOUR FELLOW COUNTRYMEN & WOMEN, AND YOUR COUNTRY.

Every motherfucking one of them need to get their fucking asses down to the nearest hospital full of the "wounded" and see exactly what the hell "wounded" looks like. Men & women, some so young they're not even legal to drink, and they're hunks of fucking RAW MEAT.

So hideously injured, medical science had to come up with a new word for their injuries. Gee bush, maybe you'll get that added to your credit in history; new scientific word invented for the living raw meat you created with your lies you fucking son of a bitch.

Rot in hell, George W Bush.

25. I agree...bump the photos. However, in all fairness...
We carry human remains on a regular basis. Unfortunately, they are REQUIRED to be carried in the cargo bins. We do not get a choice on this. As the photo shows, military remains have escorts on hand both at departure and arrival.

The ones not shipped in the cargo bins of commercial flights are shipped aboard military CARGO aircraft. This is how it always has been handled.

Think back to administrations that allowed photos and actually sometimes had officials (including POTUS) meet remains coming from overseas. They always arrived in military CARGO airplanes.

daily. Help us all steel our resolve to end this, and hopefully (I know this is out there) make a few folks change their gung-ho attitude about Iraq... before we get into another debacle in Iran.

24. Final Salute
I've read it before, but this 12 page special report which opens with the picture in your original post still sucks the breath right out of me.

>When the plane landed in Nevada, the pilot asked the passengers to remain seated while Conley disembarked alone. Then the pilot told them why.

The passengers pressed their faces against the windows. Outside, a procession walked toward the plane. Passengers in window seats leaned back to give others a better view. One held a child up to watch.

From their seats in the plane, they saw a hearse and a Marine extending a white-gloved hand into a limousine, helping a pregnant woman out of the car.

On the tarmac, Katherine Cathey wrapped her arm around the major's, steadying herself. Then her eyes locked on the cargo hold and the flag-draped casket.

Inside the plane, they couldn't hear the screams.<

27. Yes You're absolutely right but...
first of all, the majority of this country is a three second sound bite nation, not to mention something scandolous like this gets their attention. In addition, there are some niggling problems about this incident that could explode for them such as, was alcohol involved, is Cheney using a resident permit? What a reckless endagerment charge or even an involuntary assault charge? Why did the WH wait 24 hours to release this (they crucified Ted Kennedy for that!) and most of all, what REALLY happened? Did the poor guy say something to piss old Dick off and he blew his trigger? Time to find out!

New Music Video Features "Eyes Wide Open" Boots

http://www.afsc.org

AFSC’s Eyes Wide Open exhibit is featured in the blues musician Robert Cray’s new music video. The song, “Twenty,” from Cray’s Grammy-nominated album of the same name, commemorates the soldiers whose lives are “used up” by the Iraq war.
