New rule
Having seen a photograph of Scott Mclellan for the first time today, I'm struck by something which should be standard operating policy:

If someone strongly, really strongly, reminds you of a snake or a spider or any other empty predator at the tiniest glance, they should likely not be hired or elected into positions of public power.

Scott reminds me of a snake. Flat, empty eyes, no depth of presence behind the eyes or face, cold, calculating.

Which is probably exactly why he was hired. Which came first, the affect or the job?

The growling dog soundbite often heard to accompany the mention of Dick Cheney on Air America also fits so very well.

2. a snake? I get pig.
and not just because he's a bit on the chubby side. Eyes, nose? Maybe just general demeanor. But he's awfully piglike, IMO.

5. Ah, must have different characteristics with different photo angles.
He'll be happy to know that he has no "bad side" ;-)

3. Quint in"Jaws": "The thing about a shark is, he's got lifeless eyes..."
Remember the late Robert Shaw as Quint in the movie "Jaws?"

"The thing about a shark is, he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, he doesn't even seem to be livin'. 'Til he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then..."

Fits some of these right-wing mouthpieces to a tee.
