So port management sale is tactical political manuevering egh?
I say it's just a distraction for something else. bushitler claiming darkness until a few days ago. I think it is an attention draw from issues such as Plame, NSA wiretaps etc. Issues have become increasingly blatant destruction in full view of the masses. "Something happening here and what it is ain't exactly clear." Fa la la la.

2. What ISN'T a distraction?
That's not meant as a statement of ridicule -- it's gotten to the point where any given issue can be used to cover for any other issue. And our cynicism is in such a state of hyperdrive that it's out of control. Bush is our first Total Scandal President, 24/7, and it's driving us to a state of permanent political hyperactivity.

I don't think any of it's a distraction. Team Bush is in a state of frenzy, and it's tough to watch because when the whole act collapses, WE will be the ones who have to pick up the pieces.

just all collapse from hypothermia.

4. I think it's just another corrupt dealy-o by the Bushes gone wrong.
They've overreached this time. Now, of course, that's pretty much their m.o., but this one was just TOO OBVIOUS.
As for folks thinking that it's a 'Rovian' ploy..they are giving that fat, ugly sumbitch far too much credit. He is not some Machiavellian genius;he just lacks any sort of human decency that stops others from even attempting the treacherous things from which he has so far emerged unscathed. Probably not all that difficult, either, when you manage to control both the ballot-counting and major media outlets.
They will choke on their own hubris.

on the planet than red rover! I agree that he gets way too much credit! He does now how to cheat though doesn't he. Mastermind at the cheating stuff. Just ask any who debated him as a student.

10. I suspect you are right
I really don't think they expected this to bubble to the surface. They figured it would fly under the radar. They don't need another battle right now. They've spent their credibility which is the coin-of-the-realm in DC....

And yes, I also agree 100% that they are choking on their own hubris... :hi:

13. No, it is their native incompetence bubbling to the surface, again
These people are incompetent and cannot govern. They didn't screw up Katrina and the governmental response to it because they had a grand plan to kill people in the storm area. They screwed up the response because they don't believe in government and therefore don't appoint competent people to positions of power. They appoint yes-men and cronies. The results speak for themselves.

These people have learned how to run nasty elections and smear their opponents. They are very good at that. However, they completely suck at the job of governing the nation. The ports deal is yet another example of an Administration that is not paying attention to the needs of America and is arrogantly convinced that they know everything and can do whatever they want. There was no grand plan with the ports deal, it is yet another example of Bush and his cronies arrogantly doing whatever they want and that impulse leading again to an image of incompetence.

Again, Bush's poll rating before the Cheney shooting incident and the UAE ports deal: 39%.

lies to get us into an illegal war, breaking geneva conventions, torture, corrupt cronyism, no bid contracts to halliburton, propaganda...its all tied together by incompetence and motivated by power and greed..its almost too much to pull together but we must..

administration...Incompetence being another...while its ocmplicated the average person doesnt eant to deal with complicated...i think it needs to be distilled a few common themes which everyone can understand..not just those paying daily attention...and we need to run with it...tie it all together with a few bold and undeniable points...carpe diem...

17. Taytay wins. ding ding ding!
Clinton, with all his manufactured (by the reeps) distractions, managed to make Presidenting look easy. That and the fat that Raygun was gaga for at least 4 years out of 8 in office caused the Neocons to misunderestimate the challenges of running this country, and so granted the job to the biggest asshat in the galaxy.
