Fox News Conspiracy Theory: Russia Moved Saddam’s WMD To Syria
Fox News Conspiracy Theory: Russia Moved Saddam’s WMD To Syria
Last night, Fox News military analyst Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney put forth a radical new theory on why we didn’t find WMD’s in Iraq – the Russians moved them to Syria.

O’REILLY: What do you believe happened?

MCINERNEY: Well, I believe that — that had and then the Russians convinced him, because they sent a team in, a Spetsnaz team in, and they moved those weapons into three locations in Syria and one into Bekaa Valley. And they did it very thoroughly. They were very professional. They were Spetsnaz with GRU. They knew exactly where all the material was, because they were preventing the inspectors from finding it. And then they had a brilliant what they call mass deroka – deception - campaign. When the Iraqi survey group didn’t find anything, then they spread throughout the capitals of Europe and the U.N: “See, there were no WMD.”

O’REILLY: So you believe that the Russians themselves moved the WMD’s?

MCINERNEY: Absolutely, absolutely.

O’Reilly didn’t challenge McInerney’s assertion. The 92-page Duelfer report addendum, however, found “no information gleaned from questioning Iraqis supported the possibility” Saddam moved WMD to Syria. McInerney’s theory is breathtakingly conspiratorial. He not only argues Russia moved the WMDs out of Iraq, but he also says they covered the whole thing up with a massive propoganda campaign.

It’s all par for the course in the No Spin Zone.

2. Russian intelligence reported the removal of Iraqi arms.
Weapons, not WMDs.

We know Saddam had WMD, because we gave them to him in the 1980's. Probably they were stored along with the conventional artillery and shells, etc, that Iraq possessed in 2002. At the time of the invasion, Russian military intelligence reported on their web site that their overhead surveillance had observed weapons being removed from these sites in trucks.

Yes, of course the Rus knew where they were, so the report has some credibility. More to the point, if they were doing the removing, would they have reported it?

3. That claim's been around for a while. I guess they resurrect it whenever
they need to distract.

The real deception campaign was Bushco claiming that Iraq posed any kind of threat to the US.

4. This Defies Reality and Logic
I had the fun of playing with a wingnut on this issue not long ago. I posed the simple question that these asshats still can't answer. "Saddam saw his military falling apart...he knew he would lose power, he had these weapons...now if this bastard was as mean and crazy as is portrayed and he had the weapons, why didn't he use some, any?

One had the juevos to say that Saddam knew that he'd eventually return to power and needed to hide the weapons until his "resurection". This one was too much fun to sit back on. Of course, Saddam was assuming all that when he was in his hidey holes all those months all the while the country was swarming with American forces (before they became IED fodder). Also, it assumes that he expected to somehow get those weapons back and then turn around and use them on whom? <crickets chirping>

Another one claimed the nukes and chemicals went, just like Saddams planes, to Iran and that's what's being used to make the Iranian weapons. These asshats are relentless on making up answers. But have no fear, I always find a question to play with their heads...this one begged the question that "if Iran or Iraq has a weapon...how the hell are they gonna get it here? Fed Ex?" Maybe they'll ship it through one of those UAE ports.

The fear of these people shows what real chickenshits they are. They're afraid of their own shadow and keep creating bogey men we all need to go chase after cause they're so afraid, paranoid and uncomfortable in their own skin.

6. Fox military analyst like Tonya Harding was an NBC sports commentator
For some of these guys, it will ALWAYS be the Ruskies, just like it will always be the evil Yanks to their counterparts in Russia.

These dinosaurs need to go graze in the sunset where they belong.

7. A more likely scenario is Superman stuffed all the WMD into....
a lift at the Eiffel Tower and pushed it into outer space. Shortly after, the explosion ruptured the flying space mirror prison and freed the 2 bad dudes and 1 dudette.

12. This got reinforced this past Saturday. CSPAN ran a presentation
with someone "interepreting" a taped Saddam meeting with his people. He even gave a little shock and awe to the audience with appropriate accents and emotion! I'm sure they felt like they were in the room and had all of the answers by the time this guy was finished.
