Anyone listen to the wingnut talk shows today?
I was wondering if anyone happened to catch Oxycontin Boy and Spinsanity today.

How are they justifying the UAE port sale to their followers?

Are they calling it a nonstory, claiming it's dem politics, media sensationalism or simply saying trust the Chimp? All of the above?

1. I caught a few moments of Oxycontin Man
As much as I could stand anyway, he was proclaiming that Bush knew what he was doing and expressed surprise that the Democrats actually care about "Security".

Take that for what its worth. It was only about a 5 minutes representation, but that is all this brave soul could stand today.

3. pretty weak, huh?
Not that his dolts require the strongest arguements, but it sounds like Rush was phoning it in.

4. Yeah he said that the Libs should LOVE the UAE port deal
In his world Dems have been running around saying that there is no threat all these years since 9/11. Some other BS that I forgot already.

He lead off with "You have changed your minds haven't you?"

He went onto to say that this is basically media driven.

10. I must have caught that same segment
He is trying to spin this as "Democrats are bad people and don't care about security unless its politically motivated". Of course, he omits the larger issue (surprise!).

5. Caught some Hannity yesterday
and he was against it. Said he thought the President had been right on a lot of things but this isn't one of them.

Haven't heard him today so I don't know if that's changed.

8. A co-worker of mine is a Hannity-bot
Apparently, Sean is softening a bit on the Dubai Ports issue and is starting to move back in line with the administration. While he is still saying "It needs investigation", he has said that he believes Chertoff and Homeland Security is probably all over this and even indicated that Bush would never do anything to jeopardize this nation.

9. This is one of the few times I actually want to listen to Hannity
I heard that yesterday also, when he was lambasting the UAE decision, and getting into some pretty heated arguments with the freepers.

I'm just wondering how long it will take before Hannity starts defending Bush on this issue, saying that "he knows what he's doing".

6. They didn't all get their talking points...
Rush is foursquare behind W (because it makes good business sense), but Sean is still off the reservation saying that, at the very least this needs more investigation.

7. Savage (I know he's nutz) was totally against it yesterday.

Even had Schumer on last week. But than a caller called with 'knowledge' and explained it all away....now he just wants bi-partisan committee to look at it.

Did compare * to a communist regime with all of the secrecy.

11. Savage hates Arabs and Muslims
That he would oppose this deal comes as no surprise to me. He's also been very critical of Bushie for not closing the Mexican border, and rounding up all the illegals and deporting them.

13. Savage (Weiner) is certainly extreme on foreigners
He is beyond being an isolationist. He basically looks at everyone non-white/American as lower-class scum who deserve to be working in a sweatshop or housed in concentration camps.

I'm all for protecting our borders and protecting American jobs, but this guy isn't even on the same plane as the most rabid Freeper.

14. Savage is a bonafide fascist
He advocates locking up anyone who criticizes the war effort or criticizes the government (although he himself feels free to do so when it suits him).

12. The local wingnut on WLS in Chicago
This morning she painted opposition to the UAE ports deal as racist. That anyone who opposed this deal was just racist against Arabs, and how crazy it was that libs were now the racist ones....

:eyes:

18. From the freeps
By the way. Rush is talking about the port controversy right now. He seems to be supporting the president's position and saying that the dem's have ulterior motives. Getting their walking orders from Long Shore Unions.

. . . .

I listened to Rush today for awhile and what he said makes perfect sense. I am always suspicious when the left gets in a huge uproar over something and I was leery of jumping on this bandwagon against the port deal. It is all emotional. No one has given a real reason why it is dangerous other than emotional scare tactics. I just don't see why it is a bad thing. Other than these guys are middle eastern. Isn't that racist?

. . . .

According to Rush it's not about port security. If I understand him it's about port modernization and job losses. Somehow the unions fear the UAE will sacrifice their jobs via modernization.
