Looks bad for Canadian Liberal Party.
Another R.C.M.P investigation is under way.Doesn`t help that the Conservatives have run an almost flawless mistake free campaign. PM Martin is looking tired and cofused at times. Not over yet tho.:hide:

1. Could someone provide a better explanation than this?
For someone who knows next to nothing about Canadian politics this doesn't help me at all.

4. all the Canadians have to do
is look south of the border and see what conservative really means, my thought was how about the Americans that could move there to get away from the radical right, their hearts must be in their throat.
Oh please Canada do not be fooled.

9. Canadians know this is embellished crap from the opposition
and have moved on with the exception of the faux Con supporters. It will play little in the election much to the dismay of the Harper supporters. Canadians still remember the disaster of the Conservative government of Mulroney and the racist beginnings of the Reform party that has morphed into the faux Cons.

11. Harper is running a Bush-like campaign....
He's certainly campaigning to the center, well left of what you would expect his positions to actually be.

Thankfully, I don't think anyone has been paying attention to the campaign through the holiday season.

Now, if that damn Lloyd Robertson would just stop seeming so gleeful when reporting every new poll showing Conservative momentum, or what Ralph Goodale had for breakfast.

Sid

13. I actually don't mind Robertson touting the poll numbers
because it forces Canadians to think seriously what a faux Con government would be like and, when that happens, the voters run away from them. The faux Cons were hoping to trail until just before voting day and this is early enough to cause them some big problems and will strengthen the numbers voting strategically, imo.

16. Harper has about 1/1000000th as much
gravitas as bush. I can't believe this twerp could become leader of an entire nation.

10. How's the NDP doing?
That's who I'd be voting for if I lived in Canada.

12. Was just going to ask about the NDP... (very unlike the U.S. NDP)
I hear the Canadian Liberal Party is more centrist than really "liberal" and that the NDP is much more progressive and that the Neo Con - Conservative party is very much the minority.

is that pretty accurate?

14. NDP numbers are pretty static, they are looking about the same
as the last election, will probably gain the same number of seats or actually gain a few, hopefully from the faux Cons. They normally show a percentage around 15 -18% and that seems to be holding.

15. CPC has been hitting the mark on the main meme:
CORRUPTION, CORRUPTION, CORRUPTION.

I like the idea of reducing the GST, too...

And an ELECTED Senate would be nice...

More provincial autonomy, etc.

Does Harper not look botoxed, tho? Sleepy eyes, smooth forehead, etc? Still a little too scarey with some of the more RW Reform holdouts, tho...

17. He is only hitting the 'mark' with his followers and a few that have
yet to focus on the upcoming election. One has only to read Harper's REAL thoughts on Canada and Canadians from his earlier speech to a US conservative group. I have NO doubt they will get wide recognition in the coming week, lol.
