Man who shot lawyer sentenced to life in prison
Remember the video of the guy hiding behind a tree trying to get away from a man that was shooting at him?

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- A man who opened fire on a lawyer in a videotaped attack outside a courthouse was sentenced Friday to life in prison plus 25 years.

William Strier, 66, shot Gerald Curry five times in the neck, arms and shoulder in 2003.

A TV cameraman covering the murder trial of actor Robert Blake recorded the scene as Strier fired away with two guns while Curry bobbed, weaved and crouched behind a slender tree.

Strier was convicted in January of attempted murder. Prosecutors said that Strier was upset with the lawyer over the handling of a $98,000 trust fund that Strier received after he was struck by a car.

3. Lawyers are a protected species in California
whereas Texas allows you to bag one now and then if you have the proper license.

4. He shouldda had a few shots of "Gentleman Jack" and got elected
by the Supreme Court first. He may have gotten off with an apology by the target!!!

6. The problem with that is this one had video for the world to see.
Cheney's shooting had no video, just witnesses. And those witnesses aren't saying much except what Cheney wants them to say.
