limbaugh to be commissioner of football?
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 04:30 PM by BOSSHOG
Current commissioner Paul Tagliabue says he will step down from the post soon. Who better to take his place than rush limbaugh who knows more than anybody in the universe about sports and is an expert on people skills and dealing with diverse groups? If you have any doubts about that, just ask him. Its a perfect fit. Don't let his lifelong history of being a failure at everything but hate cloud your judgement on the man.

28. I thought there was a very good portrayal of Rush in "V for Vendetta"
I think he should just stick to his drugs.

that this drug addict will be their new commissioner.

24. Monkeyboy actually wanted to be baseball commish!

http://www2.jsonline.com/sports/brew/sep02/80787.asp?format=print

A new book by former baseball Commissioner Fay Vincent claims Bud Selig once told George W. Bush, then the owner of the Texas Rangers, that Bush would make a fine baseball commissioner, even though Vincent strongly believed Selig was maneuvering to get the job.

"Fay, what do you think about me becoming commissioner?" Bush asked Vincent several months after Vincent was forced out as commissioner in September 1992.

"I think it's a great idea," Vincent said.

"Do you think I'd make a good commissioner?" Bush asked Vincent.

"Absolutely," Vincent answered. "You're smart. You love baseball. Is it something you want?"

Replied Bush: "Well, I've been thinking about it. Selig tells me that he would love to have me be commissioner and he tells me that he can deliver it."

As Vincent writes in the book, "The Last Commissioner," "All my alarms went ringing at once."

Either way it wouldbe a terrible PR move by either.

13. And Rush is an expert dope. I mean dope expert. Or both.
He's a pill popper from a way back. Given his personal drug abuse escapades while simultaneously serving as talk radio's moral guardian, he'll have no problem weeding out all the dopers in baseball's ranks. An then summarily throw the book at them for violating their code of ethics, letting down the fans, and serving as a terrible example for the kids. Just about everything he's managed to accomplish for himself in a few short years!

19. Won't work
The job of the commissioner is to keep football honest so that people will continue to gamble on it.

I don't think Rush is up to the job, but would probably be a better choice than Bill Bennett.

He could rev up the steroids to new levels. The players would all look like that superhero made of stone, and have brains to match.

23. Remember Rush's stint on ESPN.
It didnt take him long to inject politics and racism imnto the Sunday morning, pre-game show.
Longtime ESPN host Tom Jackson almost quit because of this.

No Way Rush would even be considered by the NFL.

26. Anyone remember
and old Rush interview on football. Where he goes on and on how he "could" have been a great football player. He though he "could" have been a very good offensive lineman. And probably made the NFL...

HAD HE TRIED!!!

Just a guess but... he couldn't have been an NFL player.

34. Maybe he would have been a good offensive lineman
He's got the "offensive" part down pat.

All he'd have to do is learn how to be a lineman.

and he made some racist coment about a black quarterback - the one whose Mom does the Campbell soup ads. (I ain't a football fan so I can't remember names) I don't think they'd choose Rush.

30. "If that quarterback was throwing watermelons he would have caught them"
One of Rush's famous quotes. Also the only reason they hired Mcnab as quarterback was because he is black. That one cost him his announcer job. He just plain don't like black people.
