Norm Coleman says he's not going to run?

Associated Press has this surprising story, picked up by Central Pennsylvania's Centre Daily, that Minnesota Republican Senator Norm Coleman "doesn't have any interest in being on a presidential ticket."

It's surprising because no one that I'm aware of has suggested that Coleman might have been interested in being on a presidential ticket.

AP sets me straight. "Coleman, a first-term senator, has fueled some speculation about a bid for higher office by his focus on national issues and his active fund-raising on behalf of GOP colleagues," AP claims. It's speculation that has passed me by.

AP's right about one thing. For a member of the US Senate to be interested in national issues, and a member of the Republican Party to want to support other Republicans - that sure is suspicious behaviour!

Can you imagine???? Ewwwwww :puke:

3. i probably hate him the most of all
i hate the way he got the seat in the first place. i hated how he said he wasn't going to campaign in respect of Wellstone after his death. yet his ass was on every fucking tv show talking about it and how he is such a great guy for not campaigning. he is totally sleazy. and the only reason he won was because the right wing exploited the Wellstone memorial for their own gain.

He's utterly despicable.

4. Could it be a good thing for us in some way?
My mind just can't imagine that toothy mediocre jerk as president. It'd be like another Bush, maybe a tad better speaker. Yucky thoughts before bedtime.

2. ambition is Coleman's only creed. He has LONG coveted a place..
on a national ticket.
he is a massive phony.

Even friends in the Minn. Repub circles admit that he switched parties (used to be a DFLer) because the line to run for gov. or senator was shorter in the Republican party...
