Was that Iraqi General on The Daily Show legit? WMD's?
He was general on Saddam's staff and wrote a book about how WMD's were in Iraq and Saddam moved them to Syria before the invasion.
Is this guy legit? Or is he on the BFEE payroll?
Does anyone here know anything about him?

2. My first thought was that he is probably good friends with the Iraqi
lawyer who "rescued" Jessica Lynch. He is definitely on the payroll.

7. No he is not legit .....
.... the neo con money is dripping from his pocket ..... his job is to muddy the waters so as
to keep bush's base from bolting.

I have heard about him before he is Fox's Iraqi General.

Even Jon Stewart all but called him a fraud ..... "so how did they get the WMDs out of Iraq?"

8. wondered that myself, especially when another came out
(they talked about it on Oberman last night) and said the exact opposite of what this guy is saying.Said he was a double agent and tried to tell FBI there weren't any weapons and they ignored him.US paid him 6 figures and then ignored what he said.

9. I'd never heard of him before last night ...
... but as soon as he started spouting that crapola about moving WMDs to Syria, I tuned out.

Yeah, you're an iron-fisted, fanatical dictator - and your first move when you're threatened by an enemy determined to destroy you is to MOVE your weapons out of the country.

Has anyone ever come up with an even remotely plausible explanation for this theory?

10. He hadn't been involved in the Iraqi government since 1991
He describes himself as a born-again Christian. After publishing his book, he said he heard the story of the WMD moving to Syria from an un-named Iraqi pilot...at some point...in passing, I suppose.

He's sort of a darling of the neocons, if you hadn't gathered that already.

And now that I've been told that he's "in" with Fox News....

He's just a hired whore.

11. Anderson Cooper said something about his book last night to the RW
hack he had on, RW hack talking about the book and anderson cooper said--

COOPER: Well, I wish we had time to talk, especially about the Georges Sada books. I got to tell you, I disagree with you on that, having looked into it. I mean, the guy is making claims that he can't verify and that are based on what friends of his have told him. But anyway, we don't have the time to go into it. Another time.

13. Saw that. I'd like him to answer these questions...
I had posted on another thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=721517&mesg_id=724573

"Honestly, though. Is Saddam saying, "Syria, will you hang on to these WMDs for me, please?" reasonable? If that's the case, why hasn't Syria handed these (or brought them) over with the 'foreign insurgents'? And what of the pilots that he has personally, first-hand, heard this from? Why aren't they being paraded out and plastered all over Faux, CNN, MSNBC, the Today Show, etc.? Wouldn't these be the people that Bush would want out there front and center to justify why their WMD claim is wrong? Did David Kay talk with these people?"

16. I saw that guy too.....
...and I have to wonder if this is really true (that Saddam moved WMDs), why isn't the administration trying to sell this story more? I know some right wingers suspect this but it seems to me that they would want to know more about it.

The fact that the administration hasn't made a big deal out of it makes me wonder if this guy is really credible.

18. Does anyone think Jon was waaay to easy on him?
As if it were a great pleasure to have a lying propagandist on his show?

I first started getting a strange impression of him when he mentioned that he never lies. Kind of reminds me of the Swift Boat Vets for Truth.

Then he started parroting White House talking points, before he hit us with the neo-con dream, that the WMDs were sent to Syria. So tell us again about how much you hate lying?

How could he not question this man's motives? You are this/close to such an evil murderer and you sit by while others die? He could have taken him to task on that.

23. But when Jon said he thought they would have disguised the barrels...
...when the general said they had "skull and crossbones" on them, I thought that was a pretty good dig but the guy didn't seem to catch that.

20. Search this guy's name on Google.
Funny that the only people talking about this story are right-wing propaganda rags, and Free Republic.

I think even the corporate media can smell the bullshit, at least so far.

21. If he was an Iraqi General and he is in this country - it is because
the CIA wants him here. Maybe some neocon instructed the CIA to let him run around in the US promoting this theory but at the end of the day the CIA wants him in the country.
