Law & Order is becoming almost as political as The West Wing!
Did you watch the show tonight? All about the gov't hiring mercenaries, the illegal things they do and they don't have to answer to anybody, and the dirty deals demanded by the Gov't to get the info they want or need.

They were really shouting about the illegal war tonight!

2. Yes it was. I find it very interesting that several TV shows are
getting into blatant piolitics. L&O I think was the first with the Tom DeLay Tee shirt comment, but Boston Legal has done several too.
Interesting move, huh?

8. Right, and they bend over backwards to present both sides
Edited on Wed Mar-22-06 10:36 PM by Warpy
but still the right wing jerks scream like they've been scalded every time a character says words that aren't out of the RNC talking points list for the day.

It's really nice to hear balance somewhere, though. Remember when news and opinion shows were like this? Remember why they're not now?

5. I think you'll enjoy it. I didn't realize it was on 3 hours later or
I wouldn't have been so specific.

4. What is that saying???
That Art mirrors reality, or something like that???

No wonder there are more scripts like those ending up being produced.

10. I prefer the old-school Law and Order.
Among their best episodes was the one where some teenager killed a baby because he went to the wrong address to make a hit because he couldn't read.

That was a powerful political statement about our society's failure to address poverty and the culture it breeds. 'Tis a shame this issue is so out of fashion.

12. Remember when L&O was unique because it was the only show that used
theater actors for all the minor roles?

Back when nobody else was hiring real actors for bit parts on TV drama.

(except Homicide: Life on the Streets which had the production values
of an HBO miniseries).

14. One of my favorites for a long time. They usually address current
issues. Sometimes, subtle, sometimes, outright, but always a good show.

I miss Lennie

16. I've cut way back on Law and Order
when they brought that idiot pompous Fred Thompson on, and Denny Farina's(sp) character seems like a bushbot. Not only that I have given up on the law and orders, csis, and other series that now have 3 and 4 shows on these basic topics.

Other than Medium, Survivor, and West Wing I don't have a must watch list. I don't like sitcoms much these days - never watched Friends or even Seinfeld.

I am glad Dick Wolf still has control over law and order content. It was so funny the outrage over the Tom Delay Tshirt comment made on an episode on L&O: Criminal Intent last season.

17. I like SVU and rarely miss it
But the original L&O has too many Fred Thompson scenes. This episode was great though.
