If Cynthia is arrested and Convicted then what?

I assume that assaulting an officer is a felony.. If she were to be convicted would she be able to retain her seat in the House? Or is this akin to an impeachment proceeding?

Hopefully, this whole thing just blows over, but what is the worst case scenario?

So it sounds like this matter is essentially seperate and NOT akin to an impeachment proceeding, and that her seat is not inherently in jeopardy.

Seems to me that the Pubs already have enough of their members in court system...I doubt they want to open that can of worms with Cynthia

While I lend my concerns to the Congresslady, I have not followed her work closely.

My concern is in a more general sense. I want to see positive results in November, if stuff like this extends for months and months it becomes a distraction going into the election season.

If it blows over now or in a few weeks, then I doubt it will cause an damage come November.

Cheney hunting accident has smell all over it. While it was supposedly "investigated" by the local police, it was closed just as quickly. I don't think I've ever seen an investigation opened and closed that fast before.

Worst case scenario: no charges against McKinney, but convicted in the court of public opinion, which would make it plausible for here to lose the 06 election (plausible unelectability), which would serve as a cover for election fraud that causes her to lose her seat.
