Wow...the writers of 24 go MIHOP!
Edited on Tue Apr-04-06 12:12 AM by Seen the light
It had a great surprising ending that I would expect a writer from DU to come up with. SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET AND WANT TO REMAIN SURPRISED...

It turns out that the Republican president was the bad guy of the season all along. He helped plan the terrorist attacks for his own personal gain apparently. I was absolutely shocked when it happened, but it makes sense looking back. The writers went on Limbaugh's program this week to do a little damage control before it aired apparently.

I loved it!

3. That's what it was exactly
Surprised the hell out of me that Fox allowed that on their network.

2. 24 Rocks. I Called It Actually.
Bout halfway through the show I said to my wife that I bet it's logan. They were setting Gardner up way too much as obvious, and it became apparent to me there's no way it was going to be him. I figured it had to be logan. When it turned out to be the case, I said "see? even their plot twists are getting predictable lol". I can't wait to see what the hell happens in the next few weeks. We have NO IDEA what is yet to unfold, and there's still like 8 weeks left or so!

4. You're better than I am
I'm an admitted 24 addict and I even went to the trouble of making a long and drawn-out theory involving Gardner and James Heller from last season as the main culprits. Looks like I was wrong.

5. Oh You Kidding? I Had At First As Well. But Then They Played The
Gardner card way too often and way too manipulatively this episode. It was only this episode where in the middle I thought that whenever they want something to look that obvious, it is because they are going to have it be someone else. In this case logan was the only other one I could think of.

6. I should have known better
The writers of the show are the masters of the art of misdirection. I had thought about Logan, but I thought there was no way that the writers would have the guts to do something like that.

7. Thing Is,
the way they so masterfully twist the plot and all, I could just see them doing this right now so that you think Gardner is completely in the clear, and then like 6 weeks from now BAM!, Gardner's in on it too. Never know with these guys ya know? Like I said. Nooooooo idea where these next weeks are going.

I end up "watching" that from time to time due to no cable and running out of library books. Nowhere near enough to know who anyone is or what they're prattling on about, lol. I was SCREAMING at some of the actors I admire choosing to participate in what I firmly believed was "let's get the sheeple to approve torture and bow and scrape in awe at the kick-ass secret agents" sort of thing. I am so glad you spoilered that. Now my opinions of Sara Gilbert and the actor who played Ensign Ro are restored. (no sarcasm)

and to have bait-switched the "let's get the terra-ists!" sheeple into such a meme is delicious. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Now I hope they rerun it so I can watch it in order. I'm so happy to be wrong sometimes : )

12. Plenty of good actors have been on there
Just this year, look at Jean Smart and Sean Astin. Certainly no conservatives there. I wonder if they kne about the secret twist early on...

I read an interview with Jean Smart and saw an interview with Sean Astin that said they find out stuff on a week-to-week basis.

Dr. Robert Bowman Says 9/11 was an inside job. In his estimation most likely planned by the Big Dick himself, although he says Dubya also must at least have known the attacks were coming and purposely did not act to stop them which Bowman says could mean he was still guilty of murder and treason.

26. Did Logan know about his chief of staff?
How could he *not* have known his chief of staff was in on the conspiracy? Yet, when he confronted him--in private--he didn't seem to know...and did the C-o-S know about *him*--ie, Logan? There are lots of questions--and I hope they actually answer them...there are questions from as far back as Season #2 that *still* haven't been answered...

15. Another Fox show, the spin-off to the X-files, The Lone Gunmen's
pilot episode, which aired in I believe April 2001 had a government plot to fly a remote controlled airliner into the World Trade Center. If you do a search online there are links to both trailers and the whole episode to view.

19. Well, it was the fact they went on there at all
Apparently, Rush is a huge fan of 24 and has been singing its praises since last year. He also very rarely conducts live interviews on his show. Then two of the writers just happen to show up on his show for a live interview taking phone calls the week before the big villain was revealed to be the Republican president? I thought it was obvious they were doing that pre-emptively knowing that they didn't want to lose their conservative viewers.

The worst scenes were from last year (Season 4) and some parts of Season 2.

30. Last season had some parts that really pissed me off
Especially that whole part with "Amnesty Global", an obvious play off of Amnesty International. I especially disliked how they overtly and blatantly defended the use of torture.

I have seen every episode of the show and I enjoy the show and find it entertaining. I also don't feel that have any obvious political agenda (it seems all over the place ideaologically). Keifer Sutherland had an interesting interview with Charlie Rose after the Season 5 premiere and he said that in real life he absolutely opposes torture. It seems like he's pretty liberal as is his family.

27. I'm a 24 addict - this is the best season so far
Lot of WOW moments this season and I do think Logan is * as far as these writers are concerned. I do miss Palmer, but glad his brother is getting in to the plot.

The other season I really thought that was also akin to current climate in DC was the year they had a coup removing Palmer temporarily as President and were hot to blame and bomb a Mid-East country.

That movie about the Secret Service and an agent being set up in some kind of assasination plot - The Sentinel - with Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland looks interesting, though it looks like Kiefer is playing Jack Bauer in the Secret Service.

29. Twist
Despite all the good Supporting characters getting killed(Palmer,Michelle,TonY) this Is turning Into a great season. I still say Season 2 Is the best but this year Is better than Seasons 4,and 3.
And I thought Henderson was going to be revealed to be reporting to Heller(William Devine) who had
Gardner under his control but I was shocked to see that Logan Is the Villian.. I just hope we learn
how It was learned Jack was alive, and why Logan's Chief of staff didn't know he was behind this conspiracy. I hope this Isn't like Season 1 where we never learned who Nina was working for,why they wanted to aid In killing Palmer. In Season 2 there clearly was a plot to overthrow Palmer but they never told how wide It was,and stilllosse questions from the season 3 and 4 plots.
