Keep Bush as Leader...LTTE in today's Arkansas Democrat Gazette
Sorry, but the only access to on-line version is through subscription to the real newspaper, so I'm copying it here:

"I know a lot of you folks want to let George W. Bush run for re-election in 2008. Time is getting short for everyone to write their Congress persons and get them to repeal the 22nd. amendment. That is the one that limits presidents to two terms.

I am writing everyone I know in several states to get the bandwagon rolling. Time is getting short. Get those pens working. For '08, the best pick is George and Dick."

As if the Congress can just repeal the amendment. It would take the votes of 3/4 of the states as well.

People who want a third Bush term probably also like pain inflicted on them.

10. The way it goes down is, there's another 9/11 and Bush cites FDR.
In a time of war, you don't change leadership. So make sure the war never ends.

8. Do these people even realize that means Clinton could run again?
Tell 'em that, and watch 'em shut up about the 22nd Amendment real quick.

14. It won't work.
They repeal the 22nd with the goal it will prevent any democrat from being elected ever again. It's the same reason why they aren't particularly scared of President Hillary running warrantless wiretaps.

12. All our problems can be solved by a STRONGER LEADER.
Repeal the 22nd amendment, along with the fourth and 14th and all the other laws that bind the great leader's power. Gather it all to him, because the real problem is, the Great Leader is hampered by silly congressmen, judges and laws from doing What's Best For The Nation. The 22nd amendment is no different from FISA courts. Bush took an oath to Protect America, and he's going to do what he thinks needs to be done, and who is against protecting America?

Is it fascism yet?

16. Arkansas DUs, please let the writer know that we are dead center
behind his amendment cancelation. We will run Bill Clinton, who, according to Esquire Magazine, is the most influential man in the world. Be sure to remind him that Bill will wipe the floor with ole Georgie Porgie.

21. If Bush had..
.... an 85% approval rating, this would be next to impossible.

At 35%, we're more likely to be hit by an asteroid.

22. Typical Republican Dingbat--it would take more than 2years
to repeal. There is alot to do to repeal an amendment and you have got to get several states to approve such a move. Besides if it was repealed--Bill Clinton would be available to run, and if he went up against the chimp it would be no contest.
