Is 24 starting to look more like our reality now?...
I don't want to give out any spoilers, but this week's episodes kind of show a deeper conspiracy that seem to reflect what many MIHOP theorists have thought have happened with this administration. Folks "playing dumb" but being part of the evil conspiracy themselves... The VP might not be completely equivalent to Cheney, but there have already been some similarities.

Laura Bush is more of a Stepford wife than the show's first lady, but we'll have to see how the end plays out too:

And the Homeland Security takeover of CTU sounds sort of like what Karen Kwiatkowski described happened when the Bushbots took over the Pentagon too (albeit not within 24 hours)...

1. What I find striking is the ineptness of DHS on '24';
fiction emulates reality!
One of my very favorite shows! :hi:

2. I'll tell. I'll tell.

The President's behind the whole thing. He's weak and he's evil. I'm hoping they also portray him as a republican.

I should add according to either the last few seconds or next week's teaser. I was tired at the time.

3. I thought the very same thing as I was watching the end......
of last nights '24' episode. They do (we do) have a WH that has totally gone off the deep end in corruption. deception and lies. Its close association with bushco type behavior is chilling. Great show!!!

5. I'm hoping that we don't have to distort things...
... like Audrey did in order to keep some valuable things functioning.

Hope that important Dems can still keep themselves above the fray ethically in this environment.

It's already tough the way campaign financing is. We need a few heroes to work through it so that we can fix it later. Russ Feingold is now our Jack Bauer I think in a way...

4. I don't watch it, it's just perception management
or psy ops. I saw a few episodes over the years and it always seemed to be a conditioning tool to convince the viewer that you had to cut corners in the "scary" world we live in to survive. It may be good entertainment, but I'd rather have a healthy dose of reality than be entertained to death. Enjoy it for it's entertainment value, but consider the psychological effect on the less than thoughtful viewer.
