Reid: President Bush Must Disclose His Role in the Leak of Classified Information

WASHINGTON, April 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid today released the following statement after the revelation that President Bush may have personally authorized the selective leaking of classified information to sell the war in Iraq, directly contradicting his previous statements to the American people that he knew nothing of the leak.

A fact check of President Bush is attached below.

"In light of today's shocking revelation, President Bush must fully disclose his participation in the selective leaking of classified information. The American people must know the truth."

5. Give 'em hell, Harry
But I'm afraid Bush will just say in his Texas twang,

"Look, it can't be a leak if I told him to do it. The president has the authority to declassifying information. There is no crime here, it wasn't a leak. The Democrats are trying to play politics with this thing. Look, we had every reason to believe that Ms. Plame got her husband the job and we felt that was wrong. The American people deserved to know the truth. I'm glad we told them the truth. Next question."

8. Except Bush has already admitted there was a leak
by his very comments about the situation. In any case, the fact that he acted like he knew nothing about it when he was involved up to his arse is enough to indicate he isn't trustworthy.

If it was no big deal, he would have come clean immediately by saying he authorized the release of the information. To allow it to be covered up for years, to allow Fitzgerald to continue to investigate...just looks bad on his part.

By his very actions, Bush has endorsed that a crime has been committed.

7. This is a good start, but we need stronger language like Dean's statement
Classified information was leaked for POLITICAL gain. Does the term 'High Crimes' mean NOTHING in the 21st century?

IMPEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9. Ha! Like bush would tell the truth anyway....
one lie right after another. A successful liar must have a terrific memory. Bush has the mental capacity of pocket lint which is why he's caught in so many lies. Now all we need is a media that will report it. :eyes:
