George Bush is a liar. And that is the truth. The man has never been honest in his life. And he's never had a reason to. The Bush Crime Family™ has always been there to bail him out whenever he got backed into a corner. He lies to everyone: you, me, the American people, and he lies to himself. He tells himself he is a conservative man. His actions in office reveal the fallacy of this belief. One look at the government waste, lack of financial accountability, and skyrocketing deficits reveal the truth.
Bush looks in his mirror and tells himself that he is a good Christian man. Yet once again his actions betray this belief. He condemns others because they are not like him. He promotes hatred and bigotry. He discriminates. And he tells us that God talks to him. Knowing that God is the basis for all things good, what do you suppose God would really say to George Bush if he spoke to him? Go to Iraq with your weapons, use them to destroy, injure, and kill? Do whatever you must to make this happen? No, of course not. God likely would tell George he is very disappointed with his actions and his thoughts, and would encourage him to do the right thing for a change.
George stares at himself in the mirror and sees the face of an ill man. An alcoholic who cannot control his disease. He believes it is under control, after all, he is the President of the United States. How could that be so if he were an alcoholic? He is the most powerful man in the world. One only has to look at his swagger as he walks, or the smirk on his face to see he is better than everyone else.
George Bush lies to himself, which is perhaps the most hurtful of all his lies. Deep inside he knows better, but the alcohol numbs the pain and washes it away so he doesn't have to deal with it.
In the past, George's lies have only hurt those close to him. His wife, his children, his family. But now his lies are hurting millions. Thousands have lost their lives because of his lies. Thousands of mothers cry because the child they loved, nurtured, and cared for has died in this senseless war. Thousands of Iraqis have had their families destroyed by the lies.
And in the streets of America, people wonder why it has to be this way. Why they must fight every day to pay their bills, feed their families, put gas in their cars, and give their children a base so they can have a better life than they did. Millions of Americans are sick, and can't afford to see a doctor. They live in constant fear of something serious developing that could put them in the hospital, and bankrupt their family. They pray they will still have jobs tomorrow, and wonder why Bush is so dead set on outsourcing their jobs. Doesn't he work for them? Isn't he supposed to be helping them have a better life?
George Bush's lies know no boundaries, have no limits. They reach deep into the soul of America and rip its heart out. George Bush's lies are defiant in that they are repeated so often by those who do not really understand, they become embedded within the people of the land.
The problem with lies is that they conceal the truth. And good will always overcome evil. But eventually we must all face the truth. George Bush's truth will come, but the price the rest of the world is paying until that time comes is too high.
George Bush needs to look in that mirror of his. Past the fog of deceptions, past the veil of righteousness. He needs to look long and hard until he finds his soul, his inner core. He needs to face the truth, the facts of which show his illness has overcome him, and he cannot fight it alone. It is consuming him, eating him.
George Bush needs to look in the mirror until he sees the truth within. When he sees it, the tears he will shed will never be as many as the tears others have shed because of him. Face the truth: You need help, George.
