I just got "Silent Warfare" by Abram Shulsky. It's a pretty good book on intelligence theory. I also have "Of Paradise and Power" by Robert Kagan. I thought the Kagan book was interesting because it mentions "the New World Order" in the title, it's more of an essay.
2. What do you think about Woodwards books about the Bushies?
I have "Bush at War" but I have heard that Woodward is a Bush apologist and have had "Plan of Attack" recommended to me by a neocon to defend his position that "everybody thought Iraq had WMDs"
has one sentence about Joseph Wilson. Hence, while there is some value to be found in the book, it surely can not be considered an objective history of events.
He actually saw a lot of the vile things which would come from excessive nationalism especially, of course, in Germany. He mainly felt that Europe was suffering a corruption of the spirit and also was quite opposed to the sort of religiousity we see so much on display here. He wrote some decent poetry and music too.
