NEW ORLEANS – State Sen. Walter Boasso is urging St. Bernard Parish officials to reconsider talks with former FEMA director Michael Brown, who may be hired to lend his expertise in navigating federal bureaucracy to the parish. "Do we hire an individual to assist in our recovery efforts who as FEMA director resigned two weeks after Katrina made landfall?" said Mr. Boasso, R-Chalmette. Parish officials are considering hiring Mr. Brown to help with federal claims.

1. Man, ya just can't make this shit up.
Un-frickin'-believable.

Somewhere in a SANE reality, Brown is keeping busy
defending himself against a thousand charges
of negligent homocide...
But not here in B*shWorld.

3. And St Bernards, of all places
Back when there were live (post Katrina) La. police scanner audio transmissions online and some DUers were transcribing what all was being said, it was pretty obvious that St Bernards parish was taking the brunt of the feds screwed up response..they couldn't even get a fleet of cars to replace their police cars (yet we can get U.S tanks to Iraq?). The St Bernards' officials were having to beg every night for antibiotics/antidiarrhea meds to be delivered (they had ordered them 48 hrs before and never got them).

Do they need to HEAR all of those radio transmissions to remind them how BAD it was?? Don't they realize that the guy who is offering them "help" now was responsible for them not getting what they needed post-Katrina..their lack of supplies and requests for help went on for like 4 or 5 days post-landfall, night after night.
