2. I'm voting old school
I think Ari lied better. McClellan was too obvious.

Ari was the most transparent liar ever to hold that job. I hope he doesn't have affairs. He'll never hide it from his wife.

30. WHAAAA????
Obviously they were both liars, but did Scott really come across as more believable that Ari did??

31. Neither was believable
Mother Goose reading fairy tales would be more believable than any press secretary relating the Bush regime's version of reality. But McClellan seemed more comfortable telling the lies than Ari did.

4. How do you lie when you just aren't commenting on an on-going
investigation?

6. Fleisher definitely was a better liar
I think to some extent Scotty thought he was telling the truth, or wasn't far enough in the loop to know his claims were not true.

7. Maybe That Was Their "Plan" ... The Thought He Would Sound Believable...
... if Scotty himself really believed what was being said. I definitely think that he was kept at an arms-distance from what was going on.

10. Snotty McMushroom merely delivered the manure he received.
Arid Flyshit ate it up and generated his own - he took pride in lying.

11. I didn't start watching the WH press briefings until Scottie
which says something -- it wasn't until after Ari left that they sunk to the point of ridiculous (and thus entertaining). Ari lied better (he wasn't as transparent) but I think that Snotty Scottie told more lies that you could recognize outright as such (because he's a BAD liar).

12. Fleischer was a better liar...more polish.
Scott was really in way over his head. This administration seems to be rife with unqualified, incompetents who are places in positions far beyond their skill and intelligence level.

19. I agree...Ari had a real conman persona about him...
And that perception made him more believable. In fact, outside the White House, I would expect him to be wearing a plaid suit, chewing on a toothpick and saying something like, "Tell ya what I'm gonna do..."

16. Ari was so smarmy he left oil slicks in his wake
Scottie seems to struggle with it but the lies, combined with an arrogant disdain for anyone even daring to question Bushco was Ari's forte.

Although I think they hit McClellan a lot harder.

25. Ari was a better liar, but sometimes he told the truth, like when he
said that people need to be careful about what they say. Yep, 9-11 gave them all kinds of "authority" to shred the Constitution. And people who aren't careful about what they say have to answer to the SS.

27. Ari........without a doubt
From what I remember, he was pretty slick. Baby huey on the other hand gets so nervous when questioned.......it's so obvious that he's a nervous wreck.

28.  I always thought Fleischer was much more convincing
He was able to speak more effectively, even in relatively spontaneous responses to questions. McClellan tends to quietly panic and repeat his lines over and over.

Nevertheless, both are infuriatingly arrogant and condescending, to the point of being almost over-the-top. It's like a caricature.
