...out of the woodwork, sorry I haven't been posting much here lately, I wish I had a neat little editor that could convert regular HTML to this boards code. I have been really busy in the real world, of course with labor and a little scratch of time for life, there's big happenings in New York this week. Yesterday I went to a party for the West Indian members of my union, in honor of Caribbean day, I had a fantastic time, got to know some of the fella a lot better, had some food that made my lips burn off and watched a video that highlights the Caribbean American's struggle to get into the unions, and they achievements that they have made. Their skills are truly an asset to my union and we all share that pride, I am hoping that next year will be even bigger and maybe I can get a mixed down version of the video to put out on the net.
This week I have some lobbying to do, for a $6.5 billion dollar project in New York, and also I am proud to say that I am a committee member of the Labor Day Parade in New York, this year we have The Wounded Warrior Project as the Grand Marshal, if you haven't heard of it, this organization helps our severely wounded veterans acclimate to society if possible, among a list of many other things. Here in New York a retired Fireman and a retired Steamfitter help immensly, one of the things they have been doing in recent weeks is helping to outfit the entire Building Trades with WWP shirts and hats with proceeds going to the organization. That's not the only thing these fellas along with a host of other community people here in New York do, but I'll save that for a future story.
All that and getting my membership to sign the Employee Free Choice Act petition, training an apprentice and being a shop steward on my jobsite.
I'm glad your still posting, send me a PM with your E-Mail, I believe there is a listserv that needs your presence. Hope your feeling well, Joe
