MEAD, Neb. — Mead Superintendent Dale Rawson has never seen anything like it.

When the health care provider for Mead Public Schools and other districts offered teachers a one-month vacation from paying their insurance premium, it was with the stipulation that teachers and school boards agree how the money was to be spent.

"The state teachers' association recommended all local teacher groups work toward seeing that windfall translated into direct compensation for teachers," Rawson said.

But Mead teachers had a different idea. They wanted the nearly $28,000 — which would have translated to about $1,000 apiece — used to buy textbooks.

2. Public Servants are SUPPOSED to sacrifice and do more!
That is the problem. the sacrifice goes unappreciated by the general public, because public servants are supposed to do more as a part of the "mission" to promote the common good. And that is the problem. The public expects the public employees to do what is necessary for the Common Good with no real logic, except that the concept PUBLIC goes with SERVANT and thus is subject to an extraordinary loyalty to servitude because it is NOBLE TO SERVE the common good. Too bad the public efforts to treat their employees with fair treatment and decent wages has been made something to be abhorred, because taxpayers are being ripped off by govt employee inefficiencies. See the trend, demonize the poor, demonize the other, demonize the muslims, demonize public servants and destroy unions and corporate america wins. The "little people" are so busy blaming and hating the "other", they are distracted from the REAL SAVAGING of the middle class by the WALL STREET HUSTLERS who are rewarded for their misconduct. They get richer and none go to jail for their crimes against the economy and the american people.

3. Make no mistake about it. Republicans are COUNTING on these
selfless acts. They believe that some people are just wired that way. Firemen will run into a burning buildings, teachers have an urge to teach, and Republicans exploit everybody's good nature. Leeches.

4. Inspirational!
Now doctors can give the blood required for all their transfusions.
Bankers will pay your overdraft fees.
Brokers will replace all your lost money.
Insurance executives will give you bedside care and empty your deposits.
Government officials will come out and fill in the potholes and put out fires.
Defense contractors will be paying 100% taxes and provide psychiatric and medical and rehab care for all veterans.

We got a deal?
