I want you to listen to this multi-millionaire African-American who claims Barack Obama has NO RECORD IN CHICAGO as a community activist, as Obama claims...... This African-American tears Obama apart with so much conviction it scares me we have an ever bigger scandal over the horizon, that'll further tear Obama's campaign apart.

though I do agree with you that particular channel certainly had an agenda, but the African-American was speaking his mind on a show willing to listen to him. Let's not discount anyones opinion.


So were Obama's achievements during the 3 years working at Altgeld Gardens public housing development worthy of the praises he's getting? Or are his true achievements being exaggerated?

There is nothing in the article that points to anything great, beyond it being a learning ground for Obama to master dealing with people in a poorer community.

23. While campaigning for Edwards, I met a young man

from Chicago who said he was voting for Obama because of his community activism and what Obama had done for Chicago. He seemed quite sincere. There was no reason for this young man to lie to me. I was campaigning for Edwards whom I still strongly support. The guy was not nasty toward other candidates. He was not hostile toward Edwards and was very friendly. He just told me that he thought highly of Obama because of the work that Obama had done. Prior to that time I was very skeptical about Obama's claim that he was a community activist.

I think the caller on the show on this audio/video clip is kind of on the make, kind of a greedy type. Note his view that Obama's job is to bring money back to Illinois. That is a rather self-indulgent view of a senator's job.
