Our nation is failing its children. We are the richest nation on earth (for an elite few) yet we have the highest rate of childhood poverty of all the wealthy nations. And may I suggest it is time to stop the clever scapegoating rhetoric such as "failing public schools".

Failing public schools indeed. These are not excuses. These are realities. It is time to confront and ameliorate them directly.

And DUMP the Orwellian No Child Left Behind Act. Go to www.educatorroundtable.org and sign the petition.
