"Count our votes"

This isn't about counting votes -- it is about assigning/allocating delegates.

But don't let me be a wet blanket. Please, do, protest "vote counting".

clearly against the morons' best interests. The Republcians manipulate "low-information voters" into voting against their own interests. If they were not so easily swayed, we would not be in the fix we are in.

6. Why vote for her enemy? That's not smart. Sit it out, if you must, but don't vote for McSame.
I just received an email from Hillary's campaign about the decision. This is my response:

"I am saddened that it appears Hillary will not be the nominee. I had so hoped for her to be president.

However, I cannot possibly approve any proposed action that would take this to the Credentials Committee and dispute what was a very difficult compromise.

I wish strongly that it had gone the other way but it has become increasingly clear that her candidacy is not going to be, unless it’s at the ruination of the Democratic Party. I cannot participate in that.

This country needs a Democratic President, House and Senate and I cannot support any further action that will divide the party.

Please, tell her to give it up gracefully, as I know she can. I’m sure it’s an even more bitter loss for her than for us, but she must accept it, smile graciously and help to get a Democrat elected.

This is too important for any individual to continue fighting on and to participate in building walls and dividing our party.
"

28. Here's the statement from her blog.
http://blog.hillaryclinton.com/blog/main/2008/06/01/013330

"... Harold Ickes and Tina Flournoy made the following statement:

Today’s results are a victory for the people of Florida who will have a voice in selecting our Party’s nominee and will see its delegates seated at our party’s convention. The decision by the Rules and Bylaws Committee honors the votes that were cast by the people of Florida and allocates the delegates accordingly.

We strongly object to the Committee’s decision to undercut its own rules in seating Michigan’s delegates without reflecting the votes of the people of Michigan.

The Committee awarded to Senator Obama not only the delegates won by Uncommitted, but four of the delegates won by Senator Clinton. This decision violates the bedrock principles of our democracy and our Party.
We reserve the right to challenge this decision before the Credentials Committee and appeal for a fair allocation of Michigan’s delegates that actually reflect the votes as they were cast."

It's a distraction (not talking about the issues) or a way of negating the delegates votes, voices, and opinions (silencing the issue). The few (unelected) decide for the many.

17. All right lets try to calmly assess this
Someone is mad that their candidate was not nominated (something that happens to me every election; my first choice was Edwards; I was for Clark in 2004), so he then vows to vote for the opposing party candidate who disagrees with 95% of what his candidate believes, and NOT vote for the nominee of his party who DOES agree with 95% of what his candidate believes.

And the reason? Allocation of convention delegates from Florida and Michigan.

When that person looks back on this race in 2012 or many years later, seeing the ruin that President McCain has caused this nation, the credentialing of convention delegates will seem like a rather petty thing to have gotten upset about in 2008.

IF McCain gets in, the supreme court will turn right wing and overturn Roe V. Wade and turn our courts right wing. I'm under the impression, this woman, being an obvious hard core feminist would be against that and vote for her best interests. I submit, if she casts a vote for McCain because her candidate did not win, she IS stupid.

38. I'm less concerned about Roe V. Wade
than I am about courts that refuse to uphold subpoenas from the House and engage in political prosecutions. These same courts have been given carte blanche to thumb their noses at habeas corpus and the rule of law as pertains to torture. These are ongoing problems and quickly mounting. But RVW is another issue as well.

27. Truely- THANK YOU for posting that. This lady, unlike the crazy lady outside....
...the RBC earlier (the ranting New Yorker)...Anyway, THIS LADY I think represents something a little closer to the sane Clinton diehards. And the logic that she uses to come to the point of voting for McCain.

It's fucking exquisite.

Look, I'm a fan of deep sea fish and this lady still takes the cake in my "Book of the Bizarre".

I won't even bother to address the political ramifications of what she's saying. I am frankly fascinated with how she must view the world to get where she is when that video is taken.

I'll probably watch the thing again a few times and try to spot exactly the moment where she leaves all rationality.

It reminds me strongly of a scene from the documentary "Titticut Follies", which was about life in a notorious mental institution in Massachusetts in the 50's or 60's. Anyway, at one point there's this scene of a man in his mid-40's, and they're talking to him.

He's fascinated by politics and, by gum, he gives this excellent 3 or 4 minute soliloquy which, in retrospect is an extremely good political analysis of what was really going on. But there's this point, and it's as subtle as this lady's descent, where he just starts talking crazy. Like Colonel Ripper from "Dr. Strangelove" about how semenal fluid has to do something with world politics. But up to that point he seems so rational and well-informed you're wondering "Why is this guy in an insane asylum?!!?"

Fascinating!

Thanks,

PB

80. Who hasn't in politics?
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 08:34 AM by Irishonly
The repukes made a big deal of Carter saying in his heart he had lusted for other women. Yesterday, I saw people letting their anger get away from them. Damn any woman who will risk a woman's right to choose, letting another mother bury a child because of an egomaniac's desire to be a great war time president or see a child hungry because of McSameasbush. I've no time for fake feminists and temper tantrums because the candidate of their choice probably won't get the nomination. To choose to vote republican when you see the man blunder repeatedly because of ego is childish. None of my candidates got the nomination and haven't for a very long, long time but I look to get a democrat in office to try to get us out of the mess we are in now. I am tired of Clinton supporters trying to hold everyone hostage and if they do succeed in their threats to split the party, the consequences for everyone will be their responsibility. Electorate maps mean squat now and I am also thrilled the DLC is losing power. They have turned the democratic party into s shadow of what it once was.

43. Democrats?
Edited on Sat May-31-08 11:59 PM by mac2
RE: Meeting on CSPAN today.

Are there any Democrats left who haven't joined the global village?

What happened today will go down as a shameful event in the Democratic party. I have never heard such crap of manuvering and lying. They were shameful.

Voters in Florida and Michigan allowed half their delegates. Is this like the black vote was counted before they were freed? Is this a joke by the globalists who want war and the Americas Union? Liberals treated like blacks and to be slaves under the world government?

By the way none of these people on those committees were elected by the people or their delegates. Dean picked them so he could determine the out come. Is that a fair thing to "unite us"?

Uniting us to beat the other party is not their goal but to steal an election and convention 2008 (with its platform) from the people. Just like it has happened every election "screw up" since 2000. Get rid of all of the these people including Dean.

Waxman and Levin were shameful in their lies to the people. How dare they interfer in an election to chose a candidate for our party. The Super Delegates and those in Congress now control our Democratic primary winner? Like Roman we now have "Super citizens" above the rest of us making decisions which will control our government.

Bye.

If she had been in front of Jeanine Garafalo like Garafalo was on Alan Colmes on one of his first ever radio shows and he said that to her as a guest, Garafalo would have exploded with this woman just like she did then with Colmes!

We don't need these DLC "infiltrators" continuing to keep a cancer in our party. We need a heavy dose of chemotherapy to do this purge. It's going to be painful for a while, but there are certain parts of this party's body that need to be made healthy or cast off!

45. As I look down these threads as of late there are posts which
Edited on Sun Jun-01-08 12:15 AM by mac2
are very low in number. I can only assume they aren't Democrats. They are pro-Obama. Maybe by fake posters or campaign headquarters...or church.

I can't take them seriously since they are so nasty and anti-Hillary.

I'm for Obama, she for Clinton. Neither can convince the other to change. But will she vote for McCain? Not under threat of Hell itself!

50. They would destroy what is left of this nation?
That is what they are saying if they would vote for McCain. 4 more years of the bu$h doctrines would literally destroy this nation.

It always amazes me what stupid, stupid reasons morons give for voting against their own best interest.

Those thousands who said they will vote for McCain probably wouldn't have voted for Clinton in the fall either. Many are probably Limpballs ditto heads sent in to disrupt this whole process anyway.

for creating this environment. It didn't have to got down this way.... Shameful. And the fact that she hasn't reigned them in but rather further encouraged this kind of spectacle just reinforces the idea that she is and always has been in it for herself.

77. Yes it is dammit!
:hi:

replace "Clinton" by "Bush" and what remains is the same screaming way of "arguing", the same ultra-blind fanaticism and the same "logic" ( i.e. "if Obama is top of the ticket, we hand the keys to mccain... sure I'll vote for mccain..." )

All in all, the same level of idiocy, really and truly.

Her best line "I am not an idiot!"

84. Here's how the far-right (Brownback supporters) views this:
Thank You, Taylor Marsh!

I don’t really know who this liberal strumpet with the bad hair, Taylor Marsh, is, but she is doing conservatives a huge favor. I wish I’d found out about her earlier, because she puts the McCain campaign to shame as she follows in Karl Rove’s trailblazing footsteps, attacking Obambi’s strengths and driving up his negatives. This is what the GOP should be doing right now, but it seems we’re still recovering from a bruising nomination fight ourselves. Thankfully Clinton dead-enders like Marsh are doing our work for us. Taylor, you rock!

What idiot leftists like Taylor are attempting to do is something that the GOP would have a hard time doing: turning Democrats on each other, considering that their two candidates are essentially the same old liberal trash. But reading the comment threads at Marsh’s unhinged site warms my heart. There are libs over there proclaiming they would sooner vote for McCain than the “empty suit” that is Obama. They call his supporters cultists. They dig up and discuss Obama dirt and potential scandals that I’d never even heard of. Keep up the great work, libbies!

Clinton and McCainTo a man, the Republicans I know are pretty much dissatisfied with and disillusioned about Yawn McCain. Who can blame them? There’s not much to get excited about; he’s a total sell-out RINO who the MSM tries to paint as some wonderful “maverick,” mainly because he bows to the liberal media’s wishes and stabs conservatism in the back at the most inopportune moments to stay in their good graces.

I read a lot of conservative blogs and most Republicans express a desire to see Hillary Clinton win the Democrat nomination for several important reasons:
