This is a new lie, compounding the "Thanks but no thanks" lie of before.

Because Alaska is an incredible leech at the federal teat. Alaska gets more of our tax dollars per capita than any other state. For them to act like they would pay their own money to do anything for themselves is laughable, no offense to our Alaskan Democrats on this board. It's just not the way the US works right now. What a liar.

1. They are still building the road to the bridge to nowhere.
On the beach of the island that lyin palin said no thanks to the bridge to, but kept the money anyway.

The hits just keep coming.

2. I was up there this summer ...
and I saw more planes take off and land (and dock) than I had in a long time ... if you only count ones like small planes, then it's been forever since I saw so many planes take off and land.

In essence, they could take their oil checks, buy airplane fuel, and taxi their planes from town to the airport and dock there ... and it would be more cost-effective.

After spring thaw, they have a ferry for this.

3. Sure they'll build it themselves...
...with their bare hands outta Moose bones. But they won't PAY for it themselves.
Alaska is a welfare state. Oooooo... they're so independent up there! Except when they've got their hands out for federal assistance, which is always.

I don't mind helping out Alaskans. But shut up about the maverick, we're tough independent, don't need nobody crap. It's a lie. Yeah....secede from the Union like you want, Sarah. We can use the money down here.

4. Two things to say about this
One, Why did they want federal money then?
Two, Sounds pretty damned independent of them, like AIP independent?

5. I don't think that line is new
I may be wrong, but I think it's gone hand-in-hand with "thanks but no thanks" line since the convention. Anyway, she makes it sound like Congress was trying to force Alaska to take the money and build the bridge, which doesn't make any sense at all.
