John Cusack speaks here about privatization of the military, war profiteering, and the crimes of the Bush administration, among other topics. Cusack is passionate about saving our country from the corporate takeover.
He's got a wonderful film out,
War, Inc. - a hilarious satire that exposes the Bush administration's and Halliburton's lust for profit on the death and misery of others, making the whole thing look just as ridiculous and obscene as it really is. I recently wrote a review of the film,
which Mr. Cusack was kind enough to post on his MySpace blog.
War, Inc. just came out on DVD. If you wonder why you missed it in the theaters, just think for a moment about how much the corporate media usually likes to discuss these kinds of topics. Yeah. Like not at all. This movie was neglected or dismissed by reviewers and then quickly disappeared.
If you love movies and you think artists ought to be free to express themselves, and if you want to raise awareness of the Bush administration's crimes, don't let this film be silenced. Please buy it or rent it and show it to others! If you know of anyone who owns or has access to an indie theater, or if you have one in your town, ask them to show this film. And sign up on
Mr. Cusack's MySpace page and let him know about your efforts.
Liliana Segura of Alternet and Marcy Wheeler of FireDogLake are also interviewed about these subjects later in the video above.
