Six days before the general election, Sarah Palin has thrown her hat in the ring for 2012. Certainly sounds like Sarah Palin is expecting to LOSE on November 4th!

The McCain campaign is reportedly, "speechless."

Please digg it! http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Sarah_Palin_Goes_Rogue_Again_Throws_Hat_in_Ring_for_2012

1. Unlike most of your better parasites, she is (politically) killing the host.
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 06:20 PM by Poll_Blind
And I, for one, cannot wait- Tomorrow? The day after? When McCain breaks open like a rotten melon and thousands of little Sarah Palins swarm over his twitching body. She is definitely getting ready to hatch out, that's for sure.

2. McCain
should just forfeit now, blame it all on party elders and try to keep a shred of decency (if it exists in the first place). McCain: "I never wanted to be the nominee I was just forced out here unprepared and forced to pick another unprepared person. I love this country and was fed talking points month after month. I think it was a setup, I hope you guys don't all think I'm the sum of ignorance to reality in my party. Hey it was all the RNC baby! I'm voting for Obama, my friends."

7. Welcome to DU MakesMoves!
Your plan sounds like McCain's best option at this point.

How embarrassing his campaign has become. Now his own hand picked running mate is out doing national interviews basically saying she expects their ticket will LOSE the election. These types of comments from a candidate, before a campaign is over, are sacrilege. Sarah Palin is a rookie and a rogue. Loyal to no one but herself, it seems.

13. Thank You So Much, Really
Thanks! I've always been meaning to join and post but i settled for taking the sites videos and putting them on my iphone and providing video proof to mccain-palin supporters that their candidates are morons. Sorta worth it. However it does sadden me a little that I may have started posting as the window of victory is blown wide open. We clearly have a str8 path to the white house and a wider dem majority (if that means something nowadays - dem majority) not taking anything for granted but it's ours to lose and we may even have a mandate this time next week after what i predict will be a 10 point blow out. Case in point; what will I have to post about when Obama wins? Prob/Hopefully not that much.

And on Palin....she is so sabotaging her own party. Someone should check to see if she's a closet Dem. Palin needs to secede herself.

this is GREAT news for the Dems. Palin is a cakewalk. We get 4 yrs to vet her!? Unless Romney gets real and puts Ms. Palin in her place in the back of the right-wing fringe candidates then we should all sigh a breath of relief and gratitude. Palin's all they got left? The RNC is even disenfranchising anyone in their ranks who dont show support for the Hockey Mommy!

I can't get away with this crap in real life and I don't even try. How f'd does your mind have to be, and how delusional to even think you are a relevant public figure who will remain on the scene for more than, say.... about 5 more days. As an arbitrary sort of figure.

29. At this stage of the game, as you say, it is not only unprofessional but...
...it exists as a "vote of no confidence" by the VP against her running-mate in a United States Presidential Election. Now that's historic! I cannot think of any time in the last 30 years at least when a VP's own personality disorder has done so much to drag down a presidential campagin!

And I, for one, am doing the happy dance!

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Fuck you, crazy Republican fucks while you fuck each other- cause you're fucking nuts!

She's yet to release her medical records....why?

Possible reasons-

Medication history?
Only 4 kids?
Abortion?

We can only speculate why a seemingly healthy VP candidate can't seem to release her medical history.

51. That gives the media 4 years to thoroughly vet her!
Edited on Wed Oct-29-08 09:02 PM by GinaMaria
With all her corruption, lies, etc. she may be easy to beat in 2012. With the backing of crazy fundies, she might have the money and the coaching needed to make her a contender. At any rate, it sounds like she is signaling the 'base' not to vote on Tues and wait it out for four years so they can have her and not have to settle for McLame. Maybe I'm reading too much into this?

On Edit:
This seems like a bloodless coup in the repuke party. McLame was just usurped. This woman is feeling empowered by something. I think she's getting a lot of energy from the fundies. In any case it is bad form. It makes her look terrible and will not likely be forgotten that she cut McCain's throat in the last days of the campaign.

I hope this is the end of the repub party. I can't help but imagine that moderate and even right of moderate repukes will switch to Dem and leave republicanism to the extreme fringe base. I think it will be the Dem party that ultimately separates into the two main parties, maybe something more along the lines of Greens and Dems? Either way, it will be common sense folks who work together, who care about this country, who love this country. And the extreme fringe who will be marginalized. The right has had an unholy alliance of various groups, they may not hold together much longer, especially with Fundie Palin taking the reins.

60. oh sarah,
Ok no Sarah Palin fan at all, but the hype to this story did not fit the facts. You can't really get all of that (running in 2012) from that one comment. In four years to many of her skeletons will fall out her closet.

65. The vp for a presidential campaign DOES NOT admit any idea of defeat
ONE WEEK before the election.

the reason they don't do this is because people who planned to vote for them would stay home - the candidate has said it's lost, so why go through the motion.

It's a HUGE political gaffe. McCain's campaign rep. was dumbfounded that they found such a dumb person to be the vp candidate. The two camps have been fighting for days... Whack Job, He Bought My Clothes, Not Me...

And, whether true or not, it looks like an "attempted coup" of the party. She is breaking ranks, breaking party discipline...tearing down the actual candidate...the one who actually won the primary. She's on the ticket to bring in the religious right and racists and that's the part of the party she represents.

The Republican Party is being ripped to shreds by the religious right. Palin is their candidate.

If the RNC does nothing, then the Palinites take control of the republican party. Praying Palin - hmmm, I see a photoshop in my future.

64. Wolf....hmmmmm. Doesn't Palin shoot those?????
WHY is he reading her words instead of playing her actual comments to Vargas? The RW is protecting Palin while helping her to "Go Rogue" as they now are so fond of saying. The Go Rogue bit smacks of Rove--Why don't they just say "Go Rove"?

71. Yes! Run, Baby, Run!
Sarah Palin is the best thing that ever happened to the Democrats! She is truly the gift that keeps on giving. Can you imagine her on a stage debating President Obama? Oh, the sweet, sweet image.

73. Keep pretending to be an "A Ticket" politician, Sarah
Some sheeple will believe you.

6 years as mayor of Podunk, Alaska, less than 2 years as governor of an oil-rich federal welfare state with no budgetary problems, a BS degree in Communications, no significant international exposure, a warped view of the VP's responsibilities and an inability to articulate anything but the most basic policy positions means Sarah Palin is completely unqualified.

That's how it works in the executive circles, anyway.

Listen to the original interview, then tell me she in any way shape or form is "throwing her hat into the ring" for 2012 (last two questions - skip to end.).

81. A "rogue maverick." How unique...
What's she going to run as in 2012? An "individualist rogue maverick," after which, when she loses she'll run in 2016 as a "rugged individualist rogue maverick?"

And to bring 2012 up now is so politically stupid. No wonder the McBush campaign is ready to strangle her.
