1. I've never seen this guy Smith before....
...but I'll bet he's the guy who got taunted in school and ran home and cried to his mommy.

What a sissy.

10. needs to leave fox and go for cnn or msnbc
think the fake news crap is getting to him. he's smarter than fox. er smarter than a fox? Only guy I can actually watch during the day on fox. everyone else is severely biased on the right. (beyond common sense)

16. Absolutely right and I have only come to this opinion of late-for a long
time I really didn't like him, but he has shown distinctly different colors than the Fox standard. I'm betting that Fox will get tired of his 'mavericky' behavior and give him the heave ho soon. Then maybe he can land at CNN or MSNBC.

17. GM DESERVES NOT ONE DIME!
fox news is like a mountain-climbing base-camp - it's the safe-zone, the mother's milk for wannabe gop party hopefuls on their way up, and then on their way down.
smith and, to a lesser degree, wallace are two folks who stand out as actual journalists at fox. they get away with it because they are smart and have talent and they deserve much credit.
oh! and gm? they do not deserve one dime!

4. Is his lawn care guy the only laborer Shepard Smith comes in contact with?
Does his lawn care guy employ millions of workers?

Does his lawn care guy's industry support millions more in related jobs?

Or is it that Shepard Smith has such disdain for laborers that, so far as he's concerned, they're all undocumented workers with leaf blowers.

22. to be fair....
It's a small business that many can relate to and if nothing else understand the trickle down this issue could have.

5. Talk about low hanging fruit, "Shep"
I work in media and a letter like that would never get past the producer. It's just silly bickering.

8. can we still agree he is a fucking fox stooge that has gleefully
helped to poison american minds for years now?

remember: you can agree with someone on a particular point but that doesn't mean they still aren't a big asshole.

12. Better to bailout a real business, not a hypothetical financial black hole
The current bailout was hinged on trying to fill a hypotetical black hole -- see, among other posts, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=114x46728

At least the auto companies, businesses connected to the auto industry, and their millions of workers are "Main Street" ...

19. I can't remember his name but
He was on Bill Maher's show last week. He said let the oil compaines bailout GM. That is the answer to me. That's chump change to them these days. And if GM goes with an alternative fuel we will bail them out. The oil companies would be nowhere if it weren't for the car companies.

20. The auto industry is asking for a LOAN not a bailout, there is a difference, a
$25 billion loan to be paid back ABSOLUTELY NOT....$700 billion bail out never to be seen again OH SURE WHY NOT!

The gop has been trying to bust the unions for decades, this is their last dying effort. If the "credit crisis" would not have happened the auto industry could've borrowed from some financial institution, but now they can't because nobody can. Now we're finding out there was no "real" credit crisis, sounds kind of suspicious don't it?
