1. Thanks for the links!
I thought this was ultra-cool...that's our guy,

"I keep it cool"

Gobama, he'll kill you with kindness, and cool his way through any crisis...yeah baby...

I love our new pres, January can't get here fast enough!

2. Blue Note Records
It has that old Blue Note jazz feel, and it is very cool! Fred Armistead is getting better! And Barack is very, very cool.

Did I mention cool?

4. The Voice
I agree with you about the voice, but I really think he's headed in the right direction with the whole package. Of course, doing it LIVE will be the real test.

7. The textbook for Political Science 101, back in the 80's,
Edited on Mon Dec-08-08 12:34 AM by Seldona
had the word MEDIA as the largest text on the cover for a reason. Like it or not we are the exception to the rule by looking at, and sifting through, information from many sources to make informed choices.

Most consumers, err citizens sorry, don't have time for that. They get their sound bites from Faux News while making dinner after a hurried day. Hell you can watch Faux while sitting in the drive-up window at my local credit union.

Some say money greases the wheels of politics. But I say the machines themselves are made up of the media. That is a monster that may be un-slayable, maybe not.

At least some people are moving in the right direction. Look at The Daily Show. Think they haven't affected the meme? Not so, with inroads to demographics the networks salivate over. And it's on Comedy Central!

Great commentary. I too appreciate your penchant for media, having worked in media for a non-profit. The effect it has is profound.

10. Chevy Chase didn't look or sound like Gerald Ford at all
Yet those early sketches laid the foundation for 30+ years of SNL.

11. I loved Dan Ackroyd's Jimmy Carter. That used to be the SNL thing, they never
used makeup to look like the person they were satirizing. They only used their talent. I think it came from Second City in Chicago. Looks like things have changed now.

I want to see the sketch. The sketch link doesn't work, either from DU or YouTube. Anyone got a link that works?

I'll pontificate my own pontifications.
