1. Preach it Barney...
Let's talk military if we're going to mention wasteful spending. What a total slap down.

2. Why do they keep letting them get away with the lie that less than
5% of the bill is for infrastructure? My understanding is that infrastructure spending is more than 5%. Am I wrong?

5. I was so discussed with this show this morning I had to cut it off.
David kept letting the Republicans control the message most of the time and he failed to ask them hard questions.

on the face of the earth. I agree with Cher when she stated recently "It's insane how anyone is a Repuke"

6. Yes, but 5% sounds small rather than saying $39-40 billion, doesn't it?
In sales, you always use percentages with customers so it doesn't sound as large and daunting than if you use the real dollar amount. That's why Rushpublicans keep using percentages rather than dollar amounts when denigrating spending in favor of American people, and to boost their pointless points.

7. That makes sense now...but they spout off the dollar amounts when
they are railing against something in the plan that they want cut.

They are disgusting. We need people who can clearly articulate their bullshit and not allow them to get away with the crap they spew. It really gets irritating. Uninformed voters listen to that mess and it's sounds just great because they aren't getting the true story!

:grr:

9. Amazing how they can frame things
It is only 5% when they are boasting about but when they want it stripped it's billions.

I hate republicans for their hypocrisy more than anything else.

10. This whole stimulas bill has become such a clusterfuck
At some point someone is going to have to stand up and say,"this is enough, now here is what we're going to do".

12. Frank is making alot of sense lately
The F22 raptor, hasnt dropped a single bomb on a terrorist yest. Its not operational. So why are we developing a NEWER fighter the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Which is absolutely ass fuckign backwards.

How about stuff for the guys on the ground? Lets funnel a mere "5%" into them!!! How about a high mobility armoured vehicle. I could list tons of stuff we need on the ground....but Im a little tired today. Just think about it.

14. Point of Order:
The F22 is an Air Superiority Fighter. It is meant to shoot down enemy planes, and hold the airspace over the battlefield, and do it against some of the most advance fighters in the world.

The F35 is meant to act in the role of a fighter when pressed, but it's primary mission will be air to mud, dropping or firing a wide range of ordinance and making the rubble bounce or taking out tanks.

Of course, in this era of asymmetric warfare, which is likely the only kind of warfare we are likely to see for a long, long time, neither of these aircraft are likely to be effective against threats posed against the nation.

That all said, The Air Farce and the Naval zoomies have incredible influence in Washington, as do Lockheed-Martin and Boeing, and they are just gonna keep cramming these white elephants down our throats.

13. Barney speaks the truth
The GOPologists didn't care about spending when they held all three branches of the government, and now all of a sudden spending is their highest priority.

The GOP: that was then, this is now.

17. Blue Dog Democrats, I 'm sorry if I offend anyone here, but I can't stand these
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 01:20 PM by Jefferson23
individuals, time and again they hurt our party more than help. Pence is an ass, but I don't expect him to be anything more than that as a Republican.

Democratic Congressman Cooper, ""If we were to ally with the Republicans, we could swing any vote in the House of Representatives." He hastens to add, "We don't want to do that, we aren't planning on doing that." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123214833023191881.html

Just what we need?

And more here: "The president, who has hoped to sign a stimulus package by President's Day, is looking at a situation where a divided Democratic caucus House and united Republican opposition, along with splits between the House and Senate Democrats, threaten to make a mockery of his suggestion that action is urgent and necessary." http://www.thenation.com/blogs/state_of_change/405672

Barney Frank speaks to the Republican hypocrisy very well, yet, these Blue Dogs seem to have their own agenda once again.
